I agree, they look much more adorable in the cartoon series than in the movie :)Back then, it was predictable that the producers will make an own brand from the Ewoks, therefore could merchandise plush toys based on them :)
If I remember well, there was a video game as well featuring them sometime in the 80s (?) .

Because of the success they had with the public, they yielded two films made for television: "Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure" and "Ewoks: The Battle for Endor", as well as the animated series "Star Wars: Ewoks".In Brazil the cartoon aired between the 80s and 90s!
