On April 6th 1917,the U.S. enters World War 1. Our involvement maybe minimal (The U.S. saw only 6 months of combat) but It did make the French happy since they were exhausted by 3 years of horrid fighting. Have we entered earlier It would been a different story.

RIP to the 116,708 American troops who died "Over there."

TeeJay87Normal French remember, who helped them repelling German invasions in both wars. Too bad their leftists keep falsifying history.

As for the picture, looks outstanding, especially the M1903 rifle with all its details.

SaltwaterReal and decent French are very grateful for the American military intervention.
And leftists have always been falsifying history everywhere in the world to suit their wicked propaganda.
Nothing new under the sun! ;-)

TeeJay87I've also heard that the Belgians from Bastogne region also retain true historical memories, unlike their kin from Brussels.

Wonder if the Dutch remember participants of the Market-Garden operation, which included troops from 82nd & 101st US Army Airborne Divisions, British 1st Airborne Division and our 1st Airborne Brigade.

SaltwaterSome Belgians have a great sense of humour:

Hilarious and politically incorrect!
"That's it!
Go back to your homeland and stay there! "
