The girl is Cecilia, and the strange looking creature beside her is supposed to be her bit beast Celaeno, the Harpy. I'm sorry that it's not very good.
The background was intended to be Hell. The level for those who are violent against themselves. Basically, suicides. Once they die, in hell their bodies become trees, and the limbs are torn and scratched by creatures. Including the Harpies who plague the circle of hell reserved for the violent and destructive.
I'm rambling, but it all does fit into a story that I'm busy writing on Fanfiction.
