FREYR: He is the god of the sun, rain and fruitfulness. Freyr is first among the Vanir gods and one of the principle leaders of the Aesir deities as well, with an array of magical implements at his disposal, still the boar is his sacred animal. Freyr has a stable of wild boars, the most notable being; Gullinbursti (Golden Bristled) and Slidrugtanni (Cutting Tusked), which pulls his chariot across the land, sky and sea. Gullinbursti is the boar that lights up the night sky because of its golden bristles. Hildigolti also known as Battle Boar, a fierce boar he rode often into war as well. His twin sister Freyja has a boar named Hildisvini (Battle Swine). Just one of my illustrations of the characters of world myths...

jiraYou make a point, but remember who really knows what the gods look like? It is said that mortal eyes could not gaze upon the visage of the gods, less they are overcome by their brilliance...

KFelidaeYou gotta love the Norse -- beasts of burden a-plenty with those folks.<br />

While the lineart is quite nice, the colours are very jarring to the eye. I realize that Norse armour was very often painted, but this is a little... shocking, no?
