Description
New drawing of a Golden Eagle. Its going to be the largest piece Ive done ( 30x40 ) so i have lots of work to do yet. Lots different colors in the face. Truth be told Im Doing this potentialy for an album cover; the eagle will be holding a guitar in its talons coming in for a landing. The artist asked me to give it a shot.....we will see.

Great owl work! The eyes really pop out. YOu must do a full color piece one day. Where the entire paper is full of your coloring, including the edges!johnnydraws on December 28, 2011, 2:17:54 PM

Thanks Miss Lace. your right, I get a bit lazy sometimes and once the subject is done Im done. This one I do plan on rendering the background out to the edge though. On the wildlife/alpine scenics that Ive done Its a combination of laziness and that theres something i like about the center of the drawing being detailed and then fading out to more of a rough sketch on the periphery; It also kind of mimics the way the eye sees; only a very small part of our retinas see in detail and the rest is really pretty fuzzy and used for recognition only. Yea, but lets face it, its mainly laziness on my part:) Your right though, Ive often felt a twinge of conviction that i dont take the time to finish the piece from edge to edge.
