A rather unsuccessful attempt at drawing Alyson Michalka

Description

My attempt at drawing the actress Alyson Michalka. I saw her recently in 'Easy A' and a couple of years ago in 'Bandslam'. I admit my drawing doesn't look anything like her, but I'm reasonably happy with the result. As you will see (if you visit the link) the photograph has some strong shadow areas which I liked and which I've tried to reproduce.

Thanks Crystal. Using both HB and 3B pencils has definitely given that extra bit of pizzaz to the grayscale (compared to some of my other recent stuff). Btw I've now put a link to the photo I based this on in the description if you want to compare.

She is quite the pretty girl! I like her mole. :O Your style of shading is so unique!

Thanks luckylace. On my PC screen (19") she looks about twice as big as the actual drawing. Also I cheated a bit by tweaking contrast and brightness. As far as recognising who she is is concerned, I think the mole is about the only bit I got right! I've now put a link to the photo I based this on in the description if you want to take a look.
