You are so right! L would make up any excuse just to shave them off. To answer Chikibo's question, maybe he thinks that Light thinks he's cuter without them?

ROFL OMG that's awesome.
I dunno, probably because it's allmost impossible to maintain his usually sort of emotionless expression if he has eyebrows, because eyebrows are so emotive.
Or it's just because he's hairs long enough that it would cover them, so they wound up forgotten.
