I wanted to try and make a Darkstalkers character in the style of an old-timey fantasy painter like Richard Corben or Boris Vallejo. I painted a greyscale figure in Photoshop and then added color on top of it, which gives it a much different feel than my normal coloring style.

mallaardThanks! I used several photo references, but it got kinda tricky piecing them together into this exact figure. It definitely helped me make the lighting unique though.

mallaardI think those are actually my favorite parts of this piece. I guess I focused on making the butt look good because that always seemed to be the thing the artists are always emphasizing in the game and production art of her. And I always have a fun time rendering purple things like her hair because you can have such even warm and cool color shifts.
