This is my completed entry for the Shantae Half-Genie Hero fanart gallery. The guys at WayForward prefer if the artists wait until much closer to the game's release to showcase their entries, but I'm putting it up now for a very personal reason... and no, I'm not going to say what it is. All comments about it WILL be removed!
Anyway, this was completed on Feb. 3rd, just over a month from the deadline. I had originally intended a more serious look before with these two and the main antagonist from the third installment in the background, but that one wasn't as good. (I've shown the w.i.p of Shantae alone before but re-purposed it for my Let's Play of the game.) Pirate's Curse so far is my favorite of the series, and I wanted my entry based off that game, but I had troubles figuring out how to make the concept as perfect as I wanted it to be. So after a while, I went with a less serious, more comical concept while keeping their personalities in check. Also took a shot at using Inti Creates' style for the characters. (I bet they're facepalming at how bad I did it.)
