Description
One of the very first real painting attempts I made. I was trying to learn Painter 7 and using my tablet, and was very nervous. I didn't expect much at all and I was so happy with the result.
Note that I, cleverly enough at that time, used a photo of a miniature and almost completely referenced it. Pose, skull, ground, etc. The only thing that is original is some of the Blood Angels logos and the paint scheme - I like the Blood Angels and made it such.
It took about 20+ hours back in the day (early 2003). Fanart such as these eventually got Games Workshop into hiring me for doing art for them, so I can't say it was wasted at all :)
