Here is the first tiger I painted with acrylics. I know I had started to upload him before, that was before I finished it and scanned, sort of like a work in prog so people could see. Unfortunately, there's not too much difference between the WIP and the completed piece. I felt the need to add more paint in the back to make it look not so 'faded' if you look closely you can see that I tried giving this one more 'texture' but it's not smooth in the direction of the fur. This is because acrylic paints dry extremely quickly (much more quickly than say, oils) and once it dries, it dries. So very difficult for someone (esp. someone like me who never took formal art classes) to acheive that special effect. I want to make an oil painting of a tiger someday and play around with it. :D This one has a black frame to match his 'brother', the Snarling Tiger. :)

vickystuffAwww I love it, I suck with acrylic as you say because it dries too quickly. Oils are so much easier to work with. Yet My Friends Prefer Acrylic.
