What was beautiful, and painful, was the subtlety of it, the way PC’s arm laid about his shoulders, his own hand lifted to interlace with PC’s. It was the kind of gentle networking he’d never expected out of PC until it had actually happened, and when it had, it inexplicably made all the sense in the world.
