Augh!! Let me first apologise for such a late post!
*whacks head repeatedly into wall*
I'm so sorry this was up so late, and that it sucks so bad. TT__TT I tried my best, but I did draw this a while ago, so I apologise for the ungreatness of it. I could nitpick all day about what I don't like about it, so I'll save everyone from that misery and just say that I like the hair.
That's about it. Oh, and I like the background.... 'Cuz it's pretty cool, too, I guess...

Wow you see, your ideas are much better than mine. All my imagination has just gone down the freakin' drain ^_^;; but anyway.. It's actually quite lovely so you shouldn't beat yourself up so much over it. Nice coloring too, pretty smooth and you seem to have a pretty good idea of perspective and how it should get lighter the father it is away. I noticed you also tried blending colors for the grass and the sea. The proportions on the girl are a bit funny though, the legs are a little too long, and the arms when she's standing straight should come down to about mid-thigh.
