Maria is Shadow's best friend. She is quite niave and both tender-hearted and a little sassy. She looks up to Shadow as a teacher because her mother was killed by the shadow versions of Sonic and friends. <br />
<br />
If fan girls jumped Shadow in frount of her she would be shocked but would Shadow fight them off out of respect for shadow.
