During the summer we had to draw two different portraits- this one is who I am 'on the inside'.

Now how did I explain this...?

I like sketchy drawings so I left the guy like that- its a guy because I like to draw guys more so then girls (you can exaggerate the features more). No, I do not see myself as a guy on the inside (and yes, I was asked that while presenting this to the class)... He looks depressed/pissy because he sort of reflects how I felt before coming to this school. I didn't know anyone, I was nervous, blah blah...

Why a yellow background? Because yellow is an awesome color, I like sunshine and it clashes with his sadness. The humming bird represents my optimism (despite my fears). Did you get that? I can't think straight because I'm at school and everyone is breathing down my neck...

Patrick- If you want me to breath down your neck, I can.
-breathes down neck-
Me- No.

The little swirly things are there because movement inspires me for some reason and the picture looked too plain without it.

Patrick- I wish I could tickle myself, that would be nice.
Me- No.

luckylace222The art style of the face almost reminds me of Samurai Champloo! The face looks so intense and in thought- great work!

manga_cat_girlWow... That is truely an awesome picture! Hmm, you're really right about it being easier to exaggerate a males expression in drawings... I've never realized that till now! You really got the expression right! I really like the added hummingbird and the swirls in the background; you showed the "meaning in the pic" very well, yet in a hidden way which i did'nt understand before reading your description. I can't believe noone else has commented this piece!
