I wanted to draw an eligant picture of samus' back, I think this ok, but friends didn't seem to like it at all.

I think maybe it would have looked more elegant if you'd:

1) Made the back more shapely, particularly the left side.

2)Made the curves a little more flowing and maybe a bit more pronounced in the left leg.

3) Extended her torso a bit.

Her left arm seems kind of stubby, and the breast looks a bit awkward. Her neck also looks bizzare, like it should be twisting more.

Nice background and coloring. Her hair looks better this color, and it's floating very believably. Sorry for all this CC, I'm trying to be helpful, not annoying. But then I'm going to find out that this is an old pic and I should just shut up. So, several suggestions for ya, and a long post. Sorry!

brunette is good, especially dark brown and hair, but I would have preffered it to be the same length as her blonde form

FUN FACT: Samus was originally a brunette, according to the 1st Metroid. Why they changed it is beyond me.

eeek! Pretty! My little cousin is so into those games that I know who she is ^_^ I've always liked brunette Samus so much better. We have enough blondes in video games (no offense to any blondes). I love it. Especially the feet. May sound stupid but they remind me of the footie pajamas :P Good job!

i think you draw beautifully but i would check into some femal anatomy books im a girl yes and im bisexual and even i like a smaller waist but if you like waists like the way you draw them thats ok to haha my only problem is how big some of the girls tits are lol

Well it's tough to say, my bro is a better artist, so if he doesn't like something of mine, I can't argue. My one buddy thinks my design of samus sucks. But if you don't draw something verbatim that assclown thinks it ain't right. But often times he has the mentality of a ten year old boy.

Meh! If your friends didn't like this they're either Brain-dead, or are mad because you can draw. <-<...Very good, might I add. 
 
...Wait, I've said that before. Oh well, nothing like Deja Vu! ^_^ Anyways, I really like this one, looks like you go everything about right. The gray panels on the side, the reality-shapened butt, the holes in her back that integrate her to her suit...Nothing wrong with it, and I like the anatomy...as usual. ^^; 
 
The only thing I can think creepy is how tight her under-suit gets around her toes...It's like those really really thin, tight socks. x.x Those things suck.
