shading's excellent, and the details are also addressed nicely...
just the proportion, it needs a liitle bit of fixing....might be just the shape of the face though

Good luck with your realism project. I try my damnedest to draw realistically, but I never seem to cut it. Practice makes perfect though. I'm off to check out your gallery because you seem like the kind of artist i would like to take lessons from. Later, rock on \m/

Dude. I totally agree with you.

Anime-style is completely overused. At least, the kind from the "How To Draw Anime" books. It all looks the same-- sharp hair without strands, oversized and almost *square* eyes, and overly skinny, disproportionate bodies. And it's getting OLD. xD

However, when someone has their OWN anime-esque style, which incorporates realistic or original elements within it, then I can appreciate it. :3 I always told myself never to use that generic how-to-draw-anime crap, and use my own original style. Hence the Japanese animation-influenced, but original style I'd like to say I have. :3

I am quite fond of your gallery, it's a breath of fresh air from the stuff I usually see. ^^

Thanks for your comment. Your art is great it's very similiar to my boyfriends. I enjoy that kinda work very much, it's the kind I picture in my head but what comes out is the dribble on my artists page:) I never got compared to viewtiful joe style before, I never thought of it. I enjoy a lot of game but I couldn't bring myself to finish viewful joe I couldn't get into it:p People tell me your not an artist if you don't have a style , I guess now I got a semi style:) Thanks

I guess we have our differences in praise toward Marry, I'm a Christian who believes in Jesus name baptism, although I don't know alot about the Catholic religion, you guys seem to give alot of thanks to marry...and there isn't anything wrong with that, but I have a feeling i'm not seeing the whole picture around your view on Marry mother of Jesus....

About your comment on my Master Cheif: Yeah it does take a long time, that's why I regret giving the picture away, for free. I don't ever see the guy I gave it to, but I had my sister ask him about the master Cheif pic, and he still has it, and I'm still glad...

lol. By the way i added you to my faves. And about the computer art. i dont know much about it, myself. I draw and color with the mouse in MS Paint. There's really nothing to it! You shoud give it a try. all it takes is a little practice. Im sure if u started working with it, ud master it in no time at all! Plus if u need some tips on it, feel free to ask me! KEEP POSTING! Heh heh, it does bother ;)*refers to the comment above this one*, that's why I have been trying to wander into the other areas of illustrating these past few weeks, which might help me come up with other ways of portraying anime characters with a different feel (yet keeping the anime essence). It's quite hard to break that barrier since one have been used to it for quite some years.... And thanks for the comment :) (It still means something though you don't draw anime. There are many out there who cannot draw but they have the eyes to see.) Nice drawing style you have too, but I feel that the shading can be even better with more midtones. And you might wanna look more into stippling (the dotting effect), as well as the other ways of using a pen, since you have the patience for it :D And welcome to FAC~

i draw all my stuff by hand, i just color them on the computer, and yes i use photoshop. =)
