![]() Hello and welcome to my little corner of the web! I am your host Ralinde and this is my fanart and fictional work. ^_^ Please take a look around, drop me a line and enjoy what you find. I decided to include my favourite series and a little summary for each on here because I hate when I always find someone who raves about a series but I wouldn't actually have a clue what it's about. I'm always on the look out for new animes you see and you never know, you may find something here that interests you and suddenly you'll find a new love. Rurouni Kenshin: Follows the tale of a reformed Japanese assassin during the 1860s, ten years after the Revolution in Japan. Kenshin Himura, formally known as the Battosai, has taken up a vow never to kill again and often comes off as a gawky, harmless little man though few people realise the deadly skill hidden beneath. Some great laughs to be had in this anime series with some awesome characters and truly spectacular sword fights. Episode 28, 29 and 30 is probably the best of any anime show I've ever seen with a show down between Kenshin and a former enemy he long thought dead but still just as deadly, Hajime Saito. Did I mention all the hot men running around? Peace Maker: This is set in the same period as Rurouni Kenshin although it happens during the Revolution, ten years before RK. It's told from the other side, that being the Shinsengumi and not the Choshu like in RK. It centres around two brothers, mainly the younger (who comes off a lot like Kenshin at times and even looks similar) as they both struggle to become stronger in their own way. Tetsu, the younger brother, is haunted by his parents death at the hands of a Choshu member and often suffers periods of nightmares or depression. It's a very harsh show set in difficult times but it also has some fantastic laughs. Please check out Episode 15 for the biggest laugh you'll ever have in your life. Sailor Moon: An old favourite of mine, this follows the tale of a group of ordinary teenage girls who discover they are the reicarnation of legendary Sailor soldiers who live 1000 years ago. They constantly juggle school and normal life to fight the hordes of evil and jealous beings who try to claim the Earth as their own and cover it in darkness. Eventually, they hope to revive the Earthen Kingdom 1000 years into the future and that Mamoru (the Prince of the Earth) and Usagi (our heroine, Sailor Moon and also Princess Serenity) will rule together and finally bring peace to the earth. Some very moving moments mixed in with a good dose of laughter. Hellsing: A new favourite of mine which those of you into a bit of blood and gore will love. This is set in England and revolves around the Hellsing Organisation which seeks to eradicate all vampires and protect the Queen and country from evil. The Hellsing Organisation is run by the 'masculine' Sir Integra Wingates Hellsing. She runs Hellsing with an iron fist and her determination to live at any cost is the strongest of all. She has under her control, the vampire Alucard (whose name spelt the other way is Dracula). Alucard is a vicious soul and loves a worthy fight more than anything. He revels in the monster he is and fights and kills other vampires with his infamous set of guns: the Jackel and the Cassell. Dark humour abounds in this dark anime set under a bloody full moon. Hack://Sign: One of several animes set in 'The World,' this anime follows the tale of Tsukasa, a young girl abused by her father who becomes trapped within 'The World' while her physical body falls into a coma. It's a struggle to gain Tsukasa's trust for another player Mimuru and her friend Bear. Eventually however, after completing a few quests together, the three form a firm friendship and begin to work towards freeing Tsukasa and returning her mind to her body. Pretty light hearted but it has some very interesting characters and the stories behind the players in real life are very interesting. Trigun: An older anime but only one I've discovered recently. This centres around Vash, a plant like being in the form of a human. He has always loved and cherish humans but his brother Knives, hates them and seeks to destory every last one. Vash is a superior being but despite his kind soul and the fact that he has never killed a single person intentionally, trouble follows him where ever he goes and he has a terrible reputation because of it. Still, he struggles to save as many people as he can and has become horribly scared in the 130 years of his life because of it. Some awesome laughs to be had thanks to Vash and plenty of 'shoot em up' cowboy action. Wolf's Rain: Probably the final anime I'll touch on. This one's a little strange but interesting. It follows four wolves with the ability to appear as humans so as to escape extinction. They're all street smart creatures with varying personalities. The Earth has been ravenged and soon, it will come to an end. The wolves instinctively know this, particularly Kaiba, the leader and they set out to find Paradise so that they world may begin again. The steal the Flower Maiden, a GMO created from a flower in the form of a human. She leads them to Paradise but the journey is frought with danger and pursuit by many varying in parties. In the end they are all killed in the attempt but it is discovered that only when the last life is gone can the cycle begin again. It's a strange and disturbing story but the characters are highly interesting and it's also a new anime so it has some great animation. Other books, movies, anime series, etc... that I have a liking for include Pirates of the Caribbean, Card Captor Sakura, Deltora, Artemis Fowl, Harry Potter, Eragon & Eldest, Bubble Gum Crisis, Beauty and the Beast, The Avatar, the books by Tamora Pierce, the Ranger's Apprentice series and many more. I am currently writing very busy with uni so I hven't been able to write or do any art lately. *grumbles* I have not forgotten those that requested me to do some art pieces and I'm sorry for the delay but rest assured, I will get them done eventually. That's all for now folks though so I'll be in touch. Cheers! Ralinde* |
