Just a casual "hello", as you're still on my favourite artist's list. Are you gonna be putting some more artwork up sometime soon, then? Hate to sound pushy and impatient, and I realise you must be so busy, but it would be nice to see some new stuff. Hope all's well.

There will be some new stuff as soon as poss - the driving test kept me busy and so has the change-over of the new computer; I haven't been able to do anything before my monitor was calibrated today.
Otherwise yeah, all is well (except parts of my car are falling off XD) so nowt to worry about :-)

Hey there ^_^
I don't actually use Photoshop to colour my digital pieces. I use a program called Alias Sketchbook Pro; I do all my drawing/colouring on that as the brush tools are smoother and the program itself is more straightforward for the task.
I use Photoshop primarily to postwork and add finishing touches to my pieces (mostly my 3D work). I can't give you a lot of help as I am pretty busy, sorry... :-( Plus, there is no easy way to explain digital colouring methods - I'd need to create a full tutorial for that, and that'd take a lot of time - which I currently don't have a lot of! XD

I can never get it right..If I draw too many lines it looks scribbled, but if there aren't enough it just looks too much like anime..

I hate to be a bore but I'm not the most reliable person to ask, me dear! X3 I have absolutely tons of works-in-progress at the moment, not just for art either, so am slightly bogged down right now (more my fault than anyone else's) :-(
I currently don't take requests - At a push I would take commissions simply because of the time & work my pics tend to take (I'm pretty fussy & meticulous when it comes to drawing. XD) This isn't me being pompous or anything - I'm just being honest. ^^
The most I could offer you is a very quick, rather rough sketch of him. If that's not quite what you're looking for, I'm sorry I can't offer you anything more :-( But I really appreciate your interest enough in my work to ask. ^^

XD! It does take practice, and yeah I do get a little impatient to finish them sometimes. But most of the fun lies in the process of making the pic so I guess I just take my time ovet them ;-)

is 3D modeling used on photoshop?

Not the type I do, if that's what you mean. I use special 3D programs for that - however I do mention beneath all my 3D pics which program I use. ;-)
DAZ is the one I mainly use but I'm trying to render more with the more professionally-used Poser 7 (though it's tough as hell to get the hang of XD)
I think there's some kind of 3D modelling facility on the new Photoshop, CS3, but I only have CS2 so I don't know much about it. ^^

what exactly is photoshop and how do you make it work?

O_O Urm... That's not a very straightforward thing to answer really... It's very, very big program. XD
Adobe Photoshop is a picture editing program that allows you to put *any* changes and even effects you like on a photo or piece of art. You can even draw on it (it's widely used for that) - but I use a different program for drawing because it's more straightforward.
It costs an absolute bomb and you need to license yourself for it or something too, because it's very powerful. I guess to make it work... you just have to buy a manual. ;-)

i mean, when someone does a pic on photoshop, are they really the ones drawing the picture? photoshop always confuses me. it looks like the picture wasn't drawn by the person but i dunno. i don't have photoshop.

Oh. Well yeah, you do draw on photoshop - you can use a tablet (a big plastic digital pen & drawing pad), then colour it like you would with paints or pastels or whatever. Works the same way as pencils & sketch pad.
However some people have been known to abuse it, like take photographs and put effects on them to make them look like sketches. That's utter crap. (plus more people are getting to know about Photoshop's abilities so it usually gets spotted, lol)

The only books I've ever bought to help me: one on manga, because I was interested in developing a small comic-type thing soon and needed to know more lineart techniques; and one manual on how to use the 3D program, Poser. Other than that I like to rely on my own observations, because I consider the mind to be a powerful photographer. ;-)

Oh well. And yeah sometimes your mates need a kick up the arse to make them realise you need some consolation. XD
This emo thing seems to be taking the highlands by storm too, but it's all people trying to get attention. I just learn to ignore them. XD
