Ahh, tablet troubles, ne? First off, congrats for getting one!! *streamers!* The fact that it draws even when it's off the tablet is because the pen pressure is set too high. There should be a preferences kind of menu where you can set that kind of thing. As for the Square of Drawing, huh, I've never seen that before! Perhaps that can be fixed in preferences, too... If all else fails, read through the manual.
