innocence, beautifully pure
growing strongly through toxic manure
brilliant red and radiant green
sparkling morning dew vividly seen
gently rolling off the petals onto a leaf
wonderful in everyway, your belief

hypnotized by the sway of leaves
like a intricate dance to the musical breeze
nothing but loving care and good intentions too
one snip and it is free to carry away with you
several fights with thorns along the way
gaining cuts and scr@pes from a stem pleading to stay

saving the beautiful creature from the gruesome dirt
disconnecting it from ancient and growing hurt
not quite realizing one essential thing
all the muck, sh*t and mud made this wonderful being
blood from the cuts on your fingers and tears from your eyes
starting to drown you see only alone the rose survives

I lie awake at night
begging will you
take away my plight
forgive me today
for tomorrow and
yesterday
its just, I freak
when you’re in my face
breathing my disease
I hate this taste

the truth hurts baby
so get used to it
cause I’m coming in
slowly backwards
I begin to fall
I hate you
not at all
I despise the things
you do to me
tore away my wings
I never asked for this
why can't I leave?

trapped in a cage of
my one affection
cornered by my own
obsession

let me breath in
the rain

I ask, do I scare you?
I scare myself sometimes
when I open my I eyes
I see my own demise
is this then end of

or was it all a
horrible dream?
