Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Part 1
Chapter 1: A pretty normal day (for Danville that is)
It started like any other day in Danville — with a game, a gadget, and an unexpected mythological storm.
It was like any other day in Danville, like in the Tri-state area. Things might get interesting as two familiar boys were in their living room playing a card game on the coffee table. Phineas and Ferb played a card game called Rise of the Mythz, often shortened to Mythz, with a tagline saying 'Stories are Eternal'. They played cards based on mythological creatures such as manticores and werewolves.
Phineas used a sky-themed deck, including his favorite: a manticore. What caught his interest wasn't its power—but the design. The manticore wore an old-fashioned aviator jacket and a pair of goggles perched atop its head. Even if it didn't make sense… this is Phineas and Ferb we're talking about!
"I use Manti-strike and end my turn!" Phineas explained as he used a card, showcasing a Manticore's scorpion tail stabbing a random monster. Ferb countered it with a shadow dash card, nulling the attack on his werewolf (wearing ninja-like clothing) card. Phineas gave a playful groan before continuing their card battle, while Candace glanced at them with a side eye in case they did something.
"They're playing that card game, not that I care," Candace commented when talking with Stacy on her cell phone. "And why are you explaining this to me?" Stacy asked in her dry tone, used to her friend's antics. Knowing what comes when things happen, Phineas and Ferb somehow build stuff in a matter of minutes, Candace calls her mother to attempt to bust them, and said invention disappears! Well, Stacy knew it had something to do with Perry—after all, she was in on his secret.
"Say, where is Perry?" Phineas asked as their battle neared the end—with Ferb clearly in the lead. Ferb just shrugged. Perry peeked behind the kitchen counter, put his hat onto his head and tapped the floor to open a way to his hideout.
Which also starts with a familiar "I know what we're gonna do today!" Which came right just in time. "I gotta go!" Candace called out and hung up. "And there she goes…" Stacy dryly commented, before holding a starter deck of Mythz herself. Buying it in-store, out of curiosity she promises! "Thanks for shopping." The store clerk thanked Stacy as she paid and left.
Outside of Doofensmirtz evil incorporated
Meanwhile, at the top floor of Doofensmirtz Evil incorporated, Perry the Platypus made his signature entrance! Only for a gravity beam to hit him and make him float in place! "Ah Perry the Platypus, nice of you to float by!" The inept inventor commented as he walked to the floating agent. Who was trying to get by pushing his beak?
"You cannot escape this trap, I made it beak-proof!" Explained Dr Doofensmirtz, as he walked to his latest Inator. "For behold, the Spell-Inator!" He presented, as it was pointed at a stone wall where it involved spraying painted with the words 'Poofysmith' as he walked to the Spell-Inator. "You know how the baristas at coffee shops, of course you do!" He called out, rambling on about how they always misspell the names of the customers, he pushed a button, and the beam shot toward the wall.
His name was now corrected, with Dr Doofensmirtz smirking as he pushed his Inator outside. Perry struggled to escape the get out of the floating bubble and looked around to attempt to find something to get him out of the gravity orb.
Back with Phineas and Ferb, along with their friends after the boys finished their latest invention. Their friends came to see what the boys were inventing. "Whatcha' doing?" Isabella would always say when she came by to the backyard while being followed by Baljeet, Buford and Irving. Irving holding his cell phone like a camera in giddiness.
"Just in time, you're about to be the first people to join us at our hologram field!" Phineas greeted his friends. Showcasing a machine with two platforms facing each other with hologram projectors surrounding the area. "You did say bring out Mythz cards," Baljeet commented, holding his Mythz cards. He wasn't interested in the card game, but his friends had urged him to. (Well, Buford mostly)
"So you built a hologram field, to battle with Mythz made of holographic imagery!" Irving shouted out in glee, next to an annoyed Buford. "So who will I fight first?" Buford commented as he held his cards. While Baljeet just gulped in nervousness, as he was still pretty new to the game. The card game was a few weeks old, and kids from Japan to America loved every bit of it! Some teens even liked it as Baljeet saw Jermey buying a few cards next to him when he bought his.
"How about you and Ferb go first?" Isabella questioned Phineas, wanting to see it in person before she could try it out herself. "That's great Isabella!" Phineas thanked him, while Ferb gave a thumbs up. The two step-brothers walked to their invention, but before they could get in. Candace's voice called out to them as she came marching out of the house. The boys stopped as she came to stand next to them.
"Now you're busted! I'm going to tell Mom!" She cried out as she held her cell phone. But before she could call, a storm appeared suddenly. As it got everybody's attention. "The weather person said it was going to be a clear day," Baljeet commented before a strong gust of wind blew away the cards into the dark clouds! "And I'm also sure this defies the laws of physics!" Baljeet cried out as everybody attempted to grab the Mythz cards!
"Maybe if I catch this on camera this time…" Candace held her cell phone to take a picture.
Only for twin lightning bolts shoot out of the storm clouds! And one part of it came to the boy's yard, destroying the hologram field! Irving was the one who recorded it in person! "Wow, what a lightning storm!" The fanboy cried out as the boy's invention exploded.
It also happened when Dr. Doofensmirtz was carrying his inator outside, which did make him pretty tired from wheeling it. "Why do I always make my Inators big?" He groaned as he drank a bottle of water to continue. Before continuing to use his Spell-inator and pointed it somewhere downward in the direction of the local coffee shop, ignoring the storm.
"Now you properly spell my name correctly, as my name isn't Poofysmith!" He cried out, before the same storm instantly went to Dr. Doofensmirtz and his Inator, as he was instantly electrocuted alongside his Spell-Inator! Where the lightning bolt went to Perry as well. Who was surprised as the one instantly popped, and electrocuted the platypus as well!
On the streets of Danville, where everybody was wondering why the storm appeared, Stacy and Vanessa both looked at the directions the two lightning bolts went. "Looks like I'm helping my dad again with his mess." Vanessa sighed, as she went to her father's building. Stacy attempted to put her Mythz cards into the cardholder before they blew away in the direction of Phineas, Ferb and Candace's area.
"How do I explain this to Candace?" Stacy mumbled as she got onto the bus to the Flynn-Fletcher residence, all the while. Nobody knew this was going to be one of Phineas and Ferb's biggest, yet dangerous adventures yet! All the while, the storm disappeared as if it wasn't there. Like Phineas and Ferb's inventions.
Meanwhile, with Jeremy somewhere in Danville for a second. "Huh, the storm blew my cards away. Must be one of Phineas and Ferb's inventions." He commented nonchalantly as he continued walking somewhere
Perry was free from his trap, coughing as the smoke from the destroyed Inator. Before he ran outside to get back home. With Dr. Doofensmirtz groaning on the floor, next to his destroyed Spell-Inator. "I would say 'Curse you' to you Perry the Platypus, but even I know it wasn't you." He said as he got up, looking at the sky, only to be confused at seeing what appeared to be runes in the sky.
"I'm going to ignore that." He said as he went to get Norm to clean up the Spell-inator debris, thinking up another Inator in the process. "Oh hey, Vanessa." He called out as she entered, who just sighed as she went to help her father clean up
With Phineas, Ferb and the others. They saw the broken machine in pieces, the storm clouds disappeared like it never happened. "Okay, that was pretty weird," Isabella commented about the storm, where Irving gave a solemn sigh. Wanting to see holographic monsters fight, only for everybody to hear Baljeet's squeak.
"Guys, what are those in the sky?" He asked as he pointed up in surprise, where the others did as well. "Well, that is peculiar," Isabella commented. What the kids saw in the sky were strange-looking runes. One looked like a quill, another one looked like a few claw marks. "Does anybody see one that looks like a cartoon mouse?" Buford commented as Baljeet looked unamused "I would say this is statistically impossible, but I remember I'm friends with two people who invent things in a day" he said, before strange books appeared to them… floating.
"That definitely wasn't part of the design…" Phineas Muttured. "Ferb, did you add transdimensional features to this project?" Ferb shook his head.
"I retract my statement as I'm questioning reality right now," Baljeet commented with concern as the books floated towards them, confusion on their faces. Before each book stopped in front of them, even to Candace! Who is becoming wary of it? The front of the page had a symbol, a quill surrounded by a circle. "Nope, don't come near me!" Candace cried out before Phineas noticed something.
"Aren't those the Chronibooks seen on the cards?" He asked Ferb, who examined it as well and shrugged. Suddenly, the Chronibooks vanished— absorbed into their cell phones! Creating an app icon of the same symbol. "Well, this got interesting," Buford said his thoughts out loud. While Candace screeched in shock.
"Why is this thing on my phone?! Phineas, I did not sign up for your latest craziness!" She complained as she showed her phone screen. "Is this part of the hologram gone haywire or something?" Isabella gave her two cents, as Phineas went to the area of the destroyed invention and passed it. "Who knows? That storm definitely did something." Phineas said as he examined the debris.
It wasn't until he felt the wind blowing around him, the leaves and debris flying around him. "I don't think this isn't supposed to happen." He continued as he was deep in thought. "Phineas, tell me what in the world is going on!" Candace angrily demanded a finger on her cell phone to call her mom.
It wasn't until Phineas got a ping on his cell phone, but instead of the Email notification as usual. The notification appeared on the app that was the Chronibooks. The other's cell phones as well, curiously looking at the app's icon. "I can't wait to see what adventures await with you Phineas!" Irving cried out in happiness.
"I think the storm did most of it, otherwise we just made the hologram machine," Phineas said when he pressed the Chronibook app. A message was sent to Phineas, making him raise an eyebrow.
Greetings, Chronicler of Sky. Your partner is coming to you. The same messages appeared on the other's cellphones, only with a different chronicler title.
"Okay, now I know Ferb and I didn't do this." He commented before he heard a 'swoosh' sound coming from his left, seeing something as the wind was getting stronger. A pretty big portal was near the driveway fence, sensing he should back up a few feet as he heard a deep, yet boastfully excited voice calling out "Out of the way, out of control manticore coming through!"
A creature taller than six feet burst from the portal, skidding across the ground with its paws. It barely missed Linda's flower bed in the process. When it stopped, they took a big breath. And turned around to see Phineas as the manticore lifted its goggles (that don't look like typical aviator goggles, but are some kind of goggles to befit his leonine face) revealing bright brown eyes, and a wild crimson mane shown in the sunlight as his leonine face gave a confused look, yet tried to present himself heroically…
Only to have his front foot on a wheel barrel and slip, where it crashed into the fence! Breaking a few of them. Phineas looked at the manticore face to face, who had a sheepish look. Manny pulled himself up, brushing dirt off his jacket like nothing had happened. "The name's Manny the Manticore. You must be the Chronicler of Sky." He introduced himself, Phineas blinked. "I'm sorry, the what now?"
And in the distance, the sky shimmered — more portals beginning to open.
