Chapter 1 - Freedom Pending
A daughter tattered and torn,
Her heart of sorrow,
Well weathered and worn
And hers waiting for tomorrow.
So young for a convict,
Waiting for what’s to come.
Expression on her face was sick,
Making her seem numb.
Sitting in her prison cell,
She locks eyes with her family,
Her eyes start to swell,
The guard unlocks the last time with his key.
Silent moment of staring,
Her guise is callous and mean,
Then warm embrace of caring.
Her eyes flash what she’d seen.
Regretting things done and said,
Her heart that grown cold, had defrosted.
Her heart of sorrow,
Well weathered and worn
And hers waiting for tomorrow.
So young for a convict,
Waiting for what’s to come.
Expression on her face was sick,
Making her seem numb.
Sitting in her prison cell,
She locks eyes with her family,
Her eyes start to swell,
The guard unlocks the last time with his key.
Silent moment of staring,
Her guise is callous and mean,
Then warm embrace of caring.
Her eyes flash what she’d seen.
Regretting things done and said,
Her heart that grown cold, had defrosted.
