Chapter 1 - water

Journey



Water; it seems so strange.

A single drop may not seem much,

But it forms the body of water that separates us.



You were and are my first friend

Nothing will nor can change that

Cruel times have parted us by flesh

But not by memory.



I remember and recall you

As we walk our separate paths

And I wonder where yours will take you.



I see how time has shaped today

And that when our paths entwine and meet

We will both have changed

As everything does and must.



Time is not our enemy

For she gave us good times as well as changes

And I hold and treasure those times.



Even though I strain to hear your voice

Across the gorge that splits us

I know that that we are not as far apart as we seem

For I will always hold you in my mind

As I hope you will me.



Wherever your path leads you

I wish a smooth journey and luck

For as I walk my path I see your smiling face

And I wonder, can you see mine?
