Chapter 1 - To Japan

Chapter 1 - To Japan

Chapter 1 - To Japan
The whispers that follow the silence
A prelude to the rising wind
The dark wave looms ever closer
And the silence falls again,

First the earth started shaking
And so many lost their lives
Then the wave crashed in the silence
And caused even more to die,

Now as the silence reclaims us
Horror fills our hearts
We pray for the souls of the fallen
Who were more than the sum of their parts,

The survivors surrounded by ruins
Shocked by how fast it all fell
What did they do to deserve this?
To Japan, here's wishing you well.

luckylace222You should send this to a Japanese Government site- so they will know we are supporting and worrying over them over here! Your poetry is strong- although I like more mysterious, hard to interpret poems. Poetry about something that I definitely know about and the obvious words about the earthquake do not appease me, but your poem has a great messages.

Nice work!
