Mood: despair
*copied from my journals on other sites*
That's not Knuckles. That's the thing that ate Knux. OK, now that I've made that meme... (seriously, go draw stuff based on that concept.)

I lost the will to live after seeing the reboot that is Sonic Boom. Not kidding, I got skin cancer on my leg that doubled in size since last night, and it wasn't growing quite as fast before. I had the hope that I could hold out on trying to get insurance for a while, but now I'm just going to die. Congrats, Sega. I think that sums it up pretty well.

I don't care if you think it's "fine." When did our world start settling for fine!? The series was great before, and at one time it was awesome! And now we've taken the final step to insure that it is never awesome again! I mean, what freak can love you, steroid Knuckles? Only children, who love eating paste and are told that everything and everyone is beautiful these days, so why the frack do we listen to kids!? When did WE start taking orders from children?! WE'RE the adults! WE'RE supposed to be the intelligent ones around here! Not the nose-picking zombies who watch SpongeBob and the Amazing World of Gumball! (I'd say Adventure Time, but too many of you actually like that garbage)

Well, I didn't mean to go off this long.... Now, all we got is Mario, Kirby, and maybe Pokemon in a pinch. All else has either been rebooted, or is around so little that it might as well not exist.

In other news, with regard to my stories...
Assuming I live, my stories will continue to be based in the same reality they have always been based in. Knuckles will not be undergoing steroid treatments, Sonic will not be bandaged, nor his arms growing hair (except maybe in Werehog form), Tails will not wear goggles because Copter had them first, and Amy will dress in that stupid red dress rather than her sexy new outfit (I didn't say I was completely hateful of all the new designs and in love with all the old... but kids shouldn't be looking at sexy characters anyway. That's why Rouge shouldn't be in the series, technically). My fancharacters will not be redesigned (I think you get the picture.)

There MAY, however, be some slight changes. See, now there are no new games based on the universe I am writing for. Now I'm pulling character personas out of my @$$. I'll try to remain true to an ideal of how they were, rather than conforming to their new personalities as has typically been my modus operandi. Sonic will be affected the most by this. Sega has been turning him into a child. I want to fix that.

After Knuckles the Echidna, I will write the post-Generations Sonic as somewhat older, maybe slightly wiser, and certainly more frustrated with society. (Gunner won't be helping) Post-Generations GeneX Sonic shall be more of a rebel, though akin to earlier interpretations of his character. I'll try to channel the frustrated souls of Ryan Drummond and Jason Griffith, former Sonics who were both cast aside in favor of a new series order, and I imagine their Sonics are mad at being forgotten.

But all too soon comes the third 50-chapter story. I was considering ending GeneX there. If by then, Sonic Boom is still running strong and there is no sign of Sega giving the original series back to us (a likely scenario), then I may feel obliged to continue, though taking the series down a notch to something more similar to Sonic X (only without Chris Thorndyke). It would be like an "unofficially official" continuation of the original game continuity, much like what Sonic the Comic had for a while (do they still have that?) Because after the trilogy of 50 chapter stories, I'll focus less on OCs and more on the core official characters. We'll need it. We'll miss them.

If anyone, anywhere is working on any sort of campaign to SAVE the original Sonic series, point me in that direction. I want in. Maybe I'll even take it over. I have endless time on my hands and I can see it gets done right. But I suck at finding like-minded people. I'd need an assistant who can. From there, I can do the other brainwork. I have ideas on what might REALLY affect change (petitions don't work, internet.)
