Listen, I think something needs to be clarified for you poor misguided sheep. I've heard from a dummy or two who believe that Sonic Boom is merely a spin off, and that Sega will continue the already established Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.
Are you the same idiots who thought Skylanders could NEEEEVER replace Spyro?
Read the Sega Blog. Really READ it. Sega is going ALL IN with Sonic Boom. Spending a fortune merchandising it. Toys. food. TV show. video game. junk and junk galore. Money money money. Think they're really saving any gas in their tank for the Sonic we know and love? Hm? They just said SCREW THE ADULT AUDIANCE!! We complain all the time anyway! They want a new generation of sickophant "fans" who never complain about anything as long as it's not giving them homework. Who are so annoying that mommy and daddy have no choice but to spend hundreds of dollars buying the whole Skylanders collection every year because they NEED IT!
They have shot the old Sonic. Then Amy comitted suicide. They fed Knuckles to that...thing. Tails was smart enough to put on that disguise. (I'm just in denial that Tails is dead, too.) Sega has no plans to ever go back to that style, or "Classic" style, or make Sonic Adventure 3 or Sonic 4 Episode 3 or any game that you might have been holding out for. YOU HAVE BEEN BETRAYED. How's it feel?
But fortunately, Sonic's a fictional character. His death can be undone. There's a number of ways to go about it. My current favorite is not to fight at all, but to appeal to Sega to do what Mario and Zelda and Pokemon do and have multiple versions of the series. Because we'll never beat the bozos who LIKE steroid Knuckles... the idiots of the world are too powerful. But there's no good reason to throw ALL their eggs in that basket. After the money comes in from all these Sonic Boom sales, split things between the two series. (spend a bit less on marketing to make it work) Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Boom can coexist like Link and Toon Link, or Pokemon's main series and the myriad spin offs they produce (right now it's Rumble. Last gen it was Mystery Dungeon. Before that, Ranger)
But we gotta put this idea in Sega's empty head. They won't put money into it themselves. Everything's about money, people. If they think we'll buy it, then they'll make it.
I'll gladly buy less Nintendo crap in favor of more Sonic.
