Wait a minute... That's me! This is too surreal, I'm leaving!
*slam!*

...

*creeeeak* Gator says it's that or a Smash Bros. article. That's kinda not very GeneX... so I guess I'll tackle this idea, then...

Because Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is out in Japan, here's the first GeneX character to join the battle, 2BIT! (joining as a Mii, obviously)

2BIT is my personal avatar, so I feel no shame whatsoever in making it look how I want with no regard for creativity. He's a simple light-blue fox, whose current design sports cyan eyes, yellow gloves & socks, blue shoes, and a blue helmet with sideways lightning bolts drawn on the sides of it. Does he look like a Tails recolor? Absolutely. Do I care? Well, do I care about Copter, Punchy, or Spiny's potential (design) critics? Obviously not.

Side note: Yes, I start each OC article with an obligatory description of the character. I apologize to those who already know what the character looks like, but I don't draw, so I have to hammer in the descriptions for anyone who ever doesn't catch them.

Now for a more "World of GeneX" type article. 2BIT has appeared in a couple stories and occasionally butted in with parenthesis comments in random chapters. (Well, those are me, but I AM 2BIT!!) He is the self-professed creator of the GeneX world and all characters and elements related to it. However, there are a handful of elements he claims to be out of his control/jurisdiction. (I did not create Sonic the Hedgehog or any related characters. Please don't sue, SEGA. You'd have to sue the whole rest of the fanbase, too, pretty much. That'd be expensive.)

Being a creator, he is obviously quite powerful. But like any creator, he typically takes a more passive role, observing his creations while only intervening in times of world-shattering drama. (where's Arceus when you need it!?) In 2BIT & GeneX at the Olympic Winter Games, he largely acted as a guide for the main cast, frequently explaining the more obscure characters who would show up out of the blue. (Rumor has it he even wrote the additional News Briefs in the story!) Later, in the 9th chapter of GeneX: the Series, 2BIT intervened in the chaos surrounding the announcement of Sonic Boom. Firstly, he used his powers to officially remove the prior Olympic story from GeneX canon. (for various reasons that I figure should be obvious.) He then broke up the bickering and properly announced that GeneX would continue unscathed by Sonic Boom's presence, striking this chapter from canon as he left as well. So, technically, 2BIT has made no canon appearances... but he is surely there, on the fringes, watching over the GeneX world.

His power comes from an orb that is literally called "2BIT's Power." In games that I made, it is possible to obtain this power. When used in battle, it summons Link from the Legend of Zelda, who delivers a mighty slash to an opponent that almost always results in a KO. Naturally, it isn't easy to get this. You must discover the secret "Code Room", where the in-game 2BIT runs shops and other cheat-related features. The other shopkeepers have typically been my friends and family, heh. It's a pretty big and entertaining easter egg, if I do say so myself.

Despite being my avatar, I never actually use 2BIT in roleplaying. He... represents me a little too closely for that. Anyway, I don't RP anymore. Don't really have the time.

I do however use 2BIT in video games A LOT. Pokemon Trainer? I'll call 'em all 2BIT! (except the Gamecube Trainers, who were called Punchy, Rainbow, and Copter in order of game chronology.) Animal Crossing Villager? That's a 2BIT. Fire Emblem avatar? Robin? pfffft...2BIT!! I've got Miis of everyone, and I even have TWO 2BIT Miis (classic & modern) Legend of Zelda??? ........Link. (chuckles softly)

So... What's the future hold for this avatar? (Beside getting his Mii @$$ kicked in Smash Bros?) Well, I don't know that we'll see him in stories again. I'm sure I'll always find a need to bring him back, but for now, ol' 2BIT's plenty content to sit on the sidelines and observe his creation in silence.

...Oh, by the way, you spoil any part of Smash Bros before I can get my hands on it, and I'll whip out my prototype 2BIT's Ultima weapon & summon Fierce Diety Link!!!
I'll just sit here in denial about Mewtwo not getting in until I unlock the full roster of my copy of the game, thanks. (Why, Mewtwo, WHYYYYYY!!) (Mewtwo's not overrated, the whole entirety of Gens 3-6 is overrated! And I say this with Gen 4 among my favorites)
