Today, we are going to very quick cover the Eggman Empire of the GeneX series.
Metal Sonic already got an article, so we're skipping him.

First, the bad doctor himself. Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik has already tried numerous schemes to destroy Sonic and conquer the world. In the GeneX series, we find him perhaps a bit weary, trying to cobble schemes together from the work of others rather than building his own doomsday weapons. Using Bucky's GeneX research, he succeeds in building a number of robots with "souls", the E-X series. Only the GeneX Necros version of Eggman realizes exactly how successful this experiment was.

E-1X - Xenegg: The first E-X robot was destroyed by Omega prior to the start of the GeneX series. This green robot's ghost appears in the Halloween specials, his murderous anti-Sonic programming refusing to let him cross over into the afterlife without taking the blue blur with him.

E-2X Alpha: This blue Gamma-esque robot acted much like Gamma until Sonic delivered a nasty blow to his head. Now he's a bit crazed, often spouting gibberish and acting unpredictably. He even chooses to aid Sonic and his friends on occasion for no apparent reason.

E-3X Terra: This purple robot has gone through several designs and was destroyed by Punchy before being rebuilt as an Omega-esque robot. Even before being destroyed, it was out for blood, and now it's out for vengeance... against anyone!

E-4X Firma: This orange & pink robot has a female voice and is Terra's counterpart. She uses earth-based attacks and has great concern for Terra's well-being after he was destroyed before.

E-5X Jolt: A yellow Egg Pawn with a jetpack & wings on his back, Jolt uses electricity to fight and commands the Egg Pawn army. He thinks very highly of himself, despite probably being the least impressive of the E-X series.

E-6X Freeze: A light blue Gizoid with ice powers and a cold disposition. He is much more calculating than the other E-X robots.

Of course, Eggman has other minions, including the recent addition of Orbot & Cubot (who have rarely appeared in GeneX so far). There is also a Metal Eggman with delusions of grandeur and the viral feline, Firepaw, who lives in Eggman's computers. There is also the Base Alarm System, BAS, which is an AI used in the Darkegg Fortress and Eggtopia bases.

Finally, there is Char the Chao, a red Chao who... is Eggman's biggest fan, apparently. He has been aiding Dr. Eggman for some time, and seems to find amusement in it, though he initially did it just so Eggman would build his family a Chao garden.

Eggman Nega and Captain Whisker have appeared in the GeneX series as well. They appeared in Soleanna Struggle and GeneX Generations. (Nega in both, Whisker in Generations)

Author Commentary!

I'm not good at designing robots. The arachnoegg is my one pride and joy among Eggman's contraptions in the GeneX series. He gets another new vehicle in Knuckles the Echidna... I hate this one. I just needed... SOMETHING. I suck at this aspect of the series. That's why I typically just reuse enemies from the games.

Still, I intend to do 3 more E-X robots. The theme now is elemental powers. Xenegg's element is darkness(copout :p) Alpha's is energy(bigger copout) Terra's is earth, same as Firma, if they combine their efforts they can really bring down the house... but Terra doesn't play well with others.

I'm surprised how ineffective a villain Eggman seems to be when I look back. Well, I did give him one moment: Project 20. We got a chance to see what an Eggman victory might look like... then I pulled it away from him by revealing it as a daydream. The real battle almost played out exactly the same, but Eggman failed to reckon with Sonic's friends, hehe.

I'm going to have 1 more full-length World of GeneX entry...and I think it will simply be a finale. Not sure how that will work, but I'll figure it out. I started this hoping to draw in new readers, and I... don't think it helped, really. But it's a thing, it offers an alternative catch-up to reading all 200+ chapters I've written. Once a story expands this far, drawing new readers is...tough, put it that way.
