This was the beginning of Hamster Maze, a sci-fi, action, comedy original story. The main characters are Gladys and Epic. Epic is a bishonen jewel thief who steals rare items from the rich for the sake of the challenge. Gladys is a rookie police officer who gets into an accident involving radioactive substances while trying to arrest Epic. The last thing she sees before going into a coma is Epic, so his image is physically burned into her brain. She wakes up months later with no memories except for the image of Epic and no explanation for her odd 'obsession' with him. She has also become a super genius.

Gladys escapes the hospital and constructs a secret hide out, using her genius to hack all the city's systems. She turns the whole city into a giant hamster maze where she sets up all sorts of traps for Epic in order to push his abilities, both physical and mental, to the limit, in an effort to understand why she can't get him out of her thoughts. Epic doesn't understand at first, but he obviously does his best to stay alive. He later finds out what happened, but even when he tells Gladys, she still doesn't believe she has observed him enough and continues the experiments.

In time, Epic begins to enjoy the challenges. The police constantly tries to stop Gladys from setting up new challenges for Epic, as they generally cause  a lot of collateral damage, but they never succeed in tracking her down or catching him. A variety of oddball super heroes sometimes try to stop the chaos, which sometimes causes Gladys and Epic to join forces to allow their game to continue.

In this first scene, Gladys is still an ordinary person, but she later turns out to be a badass mad scientist, so don't let her initial incompetence fool you. It is unlikely that I'll get around to type up this story, as I only have so much time and patience to type and I want to dedicate more time to digital art, pixels and web-design. I found this on my Notes while going through my old iPod Touch 4 when I realized it was dying and decided to backup everything I had saved on it.

Hamster Maze

The young man grinned as he peered into the glass box. The museum was completely silent, as usual, he didn't trip a single alarm. Even if he wasn't expecting company, his face was still partially covered by a black mask, not that it did much beyond accessorize his tight fitting black outfit; his red hair and golden eyes were easy to identify. The thief moved his high tech goggles from his forehead to over his eyes and focused them with a dial on the side. He retrieved a small laser cutter from his utility belt and cut a circle through the glass. He reached in with a steady hand at an odd angle, avoiding the sensors that were invisible to the naked eye. He grasped the jeweled armlet and removed it from its box.

Grinning, he examined the prize, he could take more, but that wouldn't be any fun. He would give the city the chance to revamp the museum's security before doing this again and maybe they'll manage to challenge him. He knew the scrambler chips on the cameras would burn out soon, so he strolled out to escape from the back.

"Stop right there!" The thief opened the back door to find a girl on the other side. She was wearing a blue police uniform, her hands shaking as she aimed the gun. "You're under arrest!"

The thief stared in surprise, there weren't supposed to be any officers around. He raised both hands and smiled. "How did you find me?"

"I was patrolling and decided to take a peek down every alley I passed, just in case." The girl relaxed a little, feeling more in control. Her black hair was in a low ponytail, blue eyes filled with pride at her first arrest.

The thief smiled seductively, the officer was a rookie and he knew it. "Are you going to search me?"

"Search?" Her eyes traveled up and down before she could stop herself and she swallowed. "S-surrender all your weapons."

The thief stepped closer. "I have no weapons but those of charm," he whispered in a husky voice.

The police girl shoved the barrel of the gun on his face, nearly touching his nose. "Don't move!"

The thief grinned, the rookie was so easy to distract this wouldn't even be a challenge. For him to be caught by an inexperienced lone cop was unthinkable. In a swift motion, he kicked the gun out of her hand while  her other hand reached for the handcuffs attached to her belt. She gasped as he caught the gun and in a swift motion turned her around, holding her arms behind her back. He whispered into her ear, "catch me, if you can..." Then he released her and disappeared into the shadows in the alley.

The rookie officer stumbled in shock. It took her a moment to collect herself and it was a moment she couldn't waste.
