The plot of Hatoful Boyfriend, yes, it actually has a plot! I'm going to spoil everything, so watch out.

Basically, most humans are extinct and the birds have taken over society. You are the only human student at a bird high school. Secretly, (even as a secret to you) you were sent there as an experiment to see if the human minority could leave peacefully with the birds or if the humans should be exterminated. Dating one of the bird boys will prove that humans can live among birds and save what's left of humanity, which is not much, since you're also the only human in the city. This plot is referenced with the bad ending as well as in Yuuya's story since he  is pro-human and is targeted for assassination because of it. Shuu is supposedly a mad scientist who doesn't want peace with humans, but his alliance to the anti-human politicians is just a cover.

Even more secretly, you are the reincarnation of the apostle of the blue skies. After teaming up with Anghel in his story, Shuu is revealed to be the final boss and with an RPG battle, he is defeated and your memories are restored. The other stories are more like side stories. Nanaki is a "widow" who doubts he can ever love again, Ryouta is the classic childhood friend, Sakuya is the spoiled rich boy who loves art and music and Okosan is simply insane. Nageki's story is sadder than most, as he is a ghost who committed suicide at the library and your interactions with him unknowingly help him pass on. Nanaki is my favorite, he's sweet and funny with how he's always falling asleep.

I still need to get some of the extended endings and epilogues, but this is what I have so far. I also haven't played the extra bird story, but he wasn't in the original version, so I don't think he affects the core plot.
