Watched Ladybug webisode 2... Spoilers ahead.
Just as I expected, they did go all out cliche with the new Adrien and gave him a fan club. I don't like model!Adrien, I miss my geeky!Adrien from the original trailer!
Marinette isn't much better as dreamy!Marinette was replaced with stalker!Marinette. She even has charts detailing Adrien's schedule.
The only thing that's unexpected is that they're apparently in college instead of high school. That would be a nice change of pace from most series, if it actually fit. I understand their antics are meant to be comical and believe that they can pull off these characters (even the far less charming new ones) with their current personalities as college students, that didn't actually accomplish that. They fell very much like school kids, so I think maybe the college line was a mistranslation in the English sub.
I also find it ironic that Marinette is a fashion designer who can sew, but always wears the same outfit. I understand it's because of the limitations of having to create a new 3D model, but they could have changed the story to better fit the technology, though at this point I'm just being picky. On the bright side (though it doesn't make up for the disappointment of what could have been) the series can be pretty ok if I ignore all my expectations from the trailer and lower my standards from "potential favorite" to "just amusing enough to watch."

It was another villain of the day type thing. I'm still waiting for an origin story, but at least there was a glance at Marinette and Adrien's civilian lives.
One thing I like is that the transformations have a time limit which is affected by the powers they use like a battery. The energy can be recharged by feeding the spirits, which are absolutely adorable.
