Ok, I went to see Avatar yesterday, and all I can say is...wow...
It's not just the graphics, yes they areamazing, there's no denying that, it's the story too, yes, it's been done a zillion times before, but it has a powerful message, and we really need to pay attention to that. Firstly, the obvious one...SAVE THE WORLD...the one we all know! Secondly, the exploitation of resources in our rainforests, it impacts the local people! And more than often it's not a good impact, we introduce new diseases, relocate them so we can dig up the oil/coal/minerals/wood etc, which we really shouldn't do, they were there before us! We think we're doing good by introducing our culture and religions to them, but all we're doing is destroying their ways of life! IT AIN'T GOOD PEOPLE!
OK...since when did I become an eco-warrior? ... XD
Yeah, the film may be a little overhyped, (lol 6ft blue cat people) but you should still go see it. And I'm so buying the dvd. :V
On the negative side, I want to buy the theme song 'I See You' by Leona Lewis...BUT I HAVE TO BUY THE WHOLE DAMN ALBUM TO GET IT!! *rage* AND IT'S £7.99!!! *double rage*
