How Taila met Tails pt.13

Sonic sobbed uncontrolably over Tails' former body. Everyone around him couldn't help but tear up as they watched the scene happening before them. He's gone! Tails is gone! Sonic thought hopelessly to himself. His tears drenched Tails' fur coat, making his body even colder. "Can I see him for a second." said Taila in a very gentle tone, holding her arms out to prepare herself to hold Tails. Sonic slowly looked up at her, then at an even slower pace, gave her Tails. At the same, slow pace, she took Tails into her arms. "What are you going to do?" asked Sonic in a pleading tone. "I just want to see if there are any signs of life." said Taila politly, trying not to make matters worse on Sonic. She shapped her Tails into a large cushion and slowly laied Tails on top of it. First, she placed a hand on his chest, expecting to feel it slowly rising and falling but was dissapointed. Next, she placed her head over his mouth, expecting to hear the air being sent out of his body but was, once again, dissapointed. Then, she placed a finger on his wrist to check for a pulse but found none. She then placed her hand on the top of his head and closed her eyes. She sighed and fear shot through Sonic faster than lightning. Taila opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by Sonic. "Don't....don't say anything.....I don't want hear something that I already know." said Sonic, taking short pauses in between each word. Taila stared at him, wondering what to do now. Sonic stared down at the icey floor for a long while. "Can I have him back?" Sonic whispered. Taila imediatly started slowly scooping up Tails in her arms and brought him toward him. Sonic held his arms out toward Tails and let his weight slowly slide into them. Even though his arms were trembling, he managed to keep a firm grip on his small body. Sonic stared down at Tails in a very loving way. "Im sorry, Tails. I let you down to the ultimate low. I wish you could hear me say this, but I have always loved you." Sonic whispered to Tails. "....I...love you too." said a small voice. Everyone looked around to find out where the small voice was coming from. Sonic looked down and saw something that took his his breath away! Everyone looked at Sonic and gasped! Tails was looking up at him with total adoration. He couldn't believe what he was seeing before him! He was so stunned that he could not think or speak. He just stared down at Tails in dissbelief. Tails smiled back at Sonic, but soon became confused. "Are you okay, Tails?" asked Amy. "Im fine. I think the better question is if Sonic is okay." Tails replied scarcasticaly. Sonic suddenly smiled at this comment. "Tails. TAILS!" he said as he squeezed Tails and he coughed and gagged. "...S-Sonic!!! I don't want to die again!!!" Tails stressed to say, with long pauses in between each group of words. Sonic suddenly took notice of this and quickly loosened his grip on him. "Oh. Right. Sorry." he replied. "Can you stand up?" asked Taila. "I think so." Tails replied as Sonic pulled him up onto his feet. He attempted to stand, but as soon as Sonic let go of him, he swayed backwards. Sonic caught him just before he reached the ice-covered floor. "Woa, looks like your not ready to hold youreslf up just yet!" said Sonic. "What happened to you?" asked Knuckles. "Well......the spirit world, as far as I know, is a figment; a creation of the mind. It is used to bring comfort in those who are new to being a spirit who has passed on from the law-infested world that we come into when we are born, and by the time we leave this world to the beyond, we are so used to our physical capabilities, that it is very difficult to adjust to the weightless settings of the new world. Many people ask why lost souls cannot return to their bodies after death, but the simple answer is because once they are forcably separated from their body, the body itself dies and a soul cannot take over a living thing if it isn't alive. I am very lucky because my body was preserved in the ice, so it could not die while I was visiting the after-life." Tails began, but was cut off. "IF I WANTED A SPEACH, I WOULD HAVE ASKED!!! JUST TELL US WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!!!" shouted Knuckles. "Ok, ok! Relax! I was just getting warmed up!" He sighed and continued. "The point is that I was made into a weightless substance and was suddenly dropped back into reality so rapidly that I am not quite used to the amout if gravity in the atmosphere, therefore, I cannot walk properly." He finished, simply. "Well, it sounds like thats as simple as he can put it." said Maddie. "It doesn't matter. What matters right now is that we have to get out of here before we all freeze!" Sonic struggled to say through chattering teeth. He stood up, picked up Tails and put him onto his back. "Let's go!" said Sonic as he walked towards the closed door. They could easily find it because their eyes had parcialy adjusted to the room's deep darkness. Just as they had reached the door, they heard a cry of pain and a crash. Everyone looked around frantically for the source of the sudden outburst, but could not see details. Then, Sonic got attacked and was forced to drop Tails. They both landed with a crash onto the ice. Sonic slowly opened his eyes, though it would do no good, looked around for Tails. "Tails! Were are you?!" he called, but was drowned out by the calls for him by everyone else. Somehow, Tails heard him and called back. "Im over here!" "Where?!" Sonic shouted. "Follow my voice!" he shouted back. Sonic got up and did what Tails said. He could tell that he was very close because his voice was becoming more clear as he walked. Suddenly, he was attacked again by the same force that had hit him before and he was knocked to the floor. "WHO'S THERE!!!!!" he shouted, but got no reply. "Sonic?! Are you ok?!" asked Tails. "I just got attacked again!" said Sonic as he tried to get up. "Oh no, you don't!" shouted a farmiliar female voice as it attacked Sonic again. He fell back down onto his back and closed his eyes, breathing hard. Tails caught the voice and thought hard about who it could be. I know I have heard this voice before...but...where? He was in deep thought for a while, searching his memories for the owner of the voice he had just heard, when he was suddenly shocked into full attention by a hard shove in the stomach and an arm grabbed him from behind, wrapping itself around his neck. Instinctivly, he grabbed the arm and attempted to pull it off of his neck, but it only got tighter, forcing him to stop. "Just relax, sweety. Im not going to hurt you; your too cute!" said the female's voice, in an almost flirty tone as she slowly stroked his head with her other hand. "Who are you?" Tails asked her, curiousity and nervousy in his tone. "Don't worry about it, sweety." she whispered simply in his ear, still stroking his head.
