The worst part of game design, at least for me, is that video games are now ruined. I cannot play a game for the sake of playing it anymore. I'm counting polygons, examining textures, thinking along the three axis, and thinking up ways to make the game better. It's even affecting me in real life. Today, it was foggy, and I couldn't see past a hill on the road. I thought, "Man, the draw distance is short today!"
It's always the same story for me. After I learned flash I was identifying commercials and cartoons made with it, and after Photoshop, I was dissecting ads and poorly photoshopped pictures. Photography course? I was seeing in positive/negative space and the "rule of thirds" for weeks.

The most depressing part of game design is enemy development. You spend all of that time on your baddie, make it just right, tweak the little things on the model, add personal touches to the texture, then all people do to it is destroy it, without noticing anything. Granted, enemies do tend to attack the player character, but... That's beside the point. No one likes to see their pride and joy destroyed, right?

The most aggravating thing about game design is tweaking your model just so, then finding out your brilliant idea to save time while texturing failed, so you have to go back and drastically alter your model, re-UV map (unfold onto a 2d image for texturing), and re-texture the whole thing.

The most tiring thing about game design is spending hours on something, then finding out you have to go back and change it for the 42nd time. because you missed something or did something wrong again.

The coldest thing about game design is my basement. Seriously, I have to use a space heater to keep from shivering down here. Cold = numb fingers. Numb fingers = no work done.
