Any anime, manga otaku reading this 'ere blog entry? If you are one, I'd like to ask you a simple question. Oh, don't worry, it's not a question that requires deep thinking. I just need to know how you pronounce the words 'anime' and 'manga'. That's it!
Do you pronounce it like so:
an-nee-may (anime) ?
may-ngah (manga) ? (Like a mango, with an 'a' at the end?)
If so, then that would probably be the same pronunciation other people use. That's okay, really.
And, of course, that L'Oreal "Miss Manga" mascara commercial, they pronounce 'manga' the same way you do, if you answered yes to the above question.

The Japanese pronunciation goes:
ah-nee-may (anime).
mah-ngah (manga). (Certainly NOT like a mango, with an 'a' at the end.)
