MINOR SPOILERS ABOUND, AND THERE MAY EVEN BE A FEW BIG ONES. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE.

I went out see New Moon this Saturday. It was pretty good, I guess. The wolves were amazing. Although at the point where Laurent is in the meadow and they come out, someone who I was going with said that Sam's wolf looked like my dog with black fur, made gigantic, and without fur obscuring his vision. And they were right.
I disliked the Volturi, though. Marcus scared me - and not in the good way. I thought he looked creepy, his voice was creepy (are vampires supposed to have gravelly voices?), which overall came to a "make it stop" effect. Caius had so few lines, but the ones he did have made him sound good for the part. I don't think he had enough lines to go with, despite his waaaay too innocent look. And Aro...also scared me. He looked great, I thought he did. But it was all so weird...I guess that's just who Aro is. The laugh thing he did was hilarious! I totally cracked up. Jane and Alec kicked butt the whole scene - AMAZING! It obviously wasn't exactly how I imagined them, but pretty darn close.
Throughout the whole movie, I loved Alice - amazing! She was totally in character, and had great lines. I also liked Carlisle (I always like Carlisle), and Emmett was awesome as well. All of the other Cullens I was discontent with in some way. Yes, that includes Edward, all you team Edward fans! Personally, I've never been a fan of him in the movies, but in the books he was pretty good. The movie didn't portray him they way I imagined at all.
But...to be honest, the book was boring. Kind of. Through most of the middle, the book was boring for me. And I really didn't expect the movie to be much better. There were good points now and again, but I kept finding myself wishing that they were in Italy already. (Have I mentioned that in the books, I love the Volturi? They make awesome bad guys.) And towards the beginning, when the boring stuff was just starting, I was thinking "I have to sit through almost two hours of this?" So I liked where the director went with it, I just...didn't love the book so I didn't love the movie. That's all.
Out of five stars, I'd give it three. They did the best they could with a boring book, but it was still boring, and there were parts I disliked.
