As for the trend, it's apparently caused by spread of anime and manga distributed all around the Asia. It's typical for kids they want to resemble their favourite characters, especially the human ones. ;)

Since the young children often admire the heroes of their comics, cartoons, films etc...,
and want to look like them as you said, 
these heroes in question should  always have good values.....

Much depends on the cartoon, though I've noticed that even those promoting good values have corrupted fandom.

Have a look at "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" - as for children TV show, it's amazingly popular inside leftists; I've seen pictures on dA, where certain individuals draw Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Che and similar monsters as idealized ponies, as if spilling blood of innocent people was supposed to be cute.

These wicked leftists have very twisted minds;
and they start manipulating young children as early as the kindergarten!
