Holy crap, I finally have artwork to submit. O_O It's only been forever. Ha ha! Anyway I actually wasn't going to do as much with this drawing as I did... but it just kept growing. Originally it was just Zelda posing with her sword, but then idea after idea kept coming and well here we are. I have never attempted a nouveau drawing before... so I have to admit I wasn't really sure where to start, but I came up with a design and stuck with it. I think I might even do one for Link and Ganon as well, that might be fun!]]>Air: Aang by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:074cef7b-de29-6c2b-bb92-d9e04ea76e7c2012-08-19T16:07:37-07:00Series: Avatar the Last Airbender
Character: Aang
Medium: Pencil, paper, photoshop
Time Taken: 6-8 hours
Oh look, another drawing!! I have to admit I am surprised it took me this long to submit some Avatar fanart... It's one of my favorite shows! So I decides I would start by following the Avatar cycle. Expect to see a Water: Katara next!
I actually had a difficult time coming up with a pose for Aang. I guess Air isn't my element. I really wanted a swirling motion to illustrate the Airbending style. I finally settled on on this post though. I also wanted to experiment with color a bit on this one. I chose a blue background and I thought it might be neat to have orange and yellow near the base of the tornado, as if Aang were moving so fast he was a blur.
Enjoy!]]>Shadows of the Temple by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:2ffaaf5e-7b13-1693-97ba-f25a1b8e3d142012-08-05T14:42:17-07:00Holy crap! Is this a drawing?? Why yes it is!
Series: Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
Character: Link, Navi, & some Wolfos.
This piece belongs with the other two Zelda pieces I added forever ago. Now I have done one of each of the three tunics! Yays! Now what will I do. :P
Actually, this piece was an experiment for me. I wanted to try and make a picture that was done fast (well faster than I usually color) but still have the amount of quality I require from myself. I was faster for sure, and I am very pleased with the overall result. I do feel though that with practice I can do much better and be much faster.
So hopefully this will be the first of many new drawings to come. I hope you enjoy.]]>Beast of the Inferno by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:a25a4619-765d-589b-822c-b6900e79cb372011-03-13T21:09:33-07:00From: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Okay so I decided I wanted to do a set of three pictures, with the color themed after Link's other tunics. Obviously, this is the red one. :P I decided I wanted to have Link fighting a lizalfos with a lava fall in the background. Big mistake there, the lava probably took more time than anything else on the picture. It's good experience though right?
I tried a few new techniques on the lizalfos' skin and I was pretty pleased with the result. I will have to remember it if I ever draw more of them. I also noticed that there are very few references for lizalfos, so I changed the design slightly. I think he actually came out looking pretty scary!]]>Waiting for You by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:a2c7225b-6082-a58c-76c7-aaa37b6dea132011-02-28T16:53:32-08:00From: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Yay another weekly challenge out on time. This one was a lot of fun for me, I found myself having a tough time pulling away from it. Shadow Link is one of my favorite bosses, too bad the poor guy is stuck in the most dreadful dungeons in the entire game. :P
I actually had the idea for this picture a few years ago but I never drew it because I was pretty uncomfortable with drawing perspective. I still am a little nervous about making it accurate, but I am better than I used to be. I also feel like you don't improve if you don't challenge yourself.
I did a lot of research on water texture and actually just ended up drawing my own. It was helpful to have them as a reference though.]]>Ordon Link by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:3374330b-106c-3767-8678-95d1fb5bdd612011-02-23T22:28:43-08:00From: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Ah ha! I am getting faster! This picture was commissioned/requested by a good friend of mine. And he better like it. :P Just teasing.
So there was a bit of a discussion on this picture as to how the baby goat should look. It was difficult to decide if the goat should have horns that connected or horns at all. Eventually we decided that the horns would be connected, just smaller than the adult.
The background was actually pretty fun and I did more on it than I originally planned. I turned on Twilight Princess and used a nice spot on the game for a reference.]]>Find Your Way by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:0591fc2d-50a9-634e-047c-dd17000826302011-02-16T22:59:26-08:00From: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess/Super Smash Bros Brawl

Well here is the picture for this week. It actually took me a lot longer than I had planned on, mainly because Sheik's outfit is very complicated. The background didn't take nearly as long as i thought it would. I tried some new techniques using different brushes for the stone. It seemed to save a little bit of time and still looks pretty good.
I was very sad to see that Sheik did not make an appearance in Twilight Princess, which is too bad too, I could so see Sheik leaping from the towers of Hyrule Castle, ready to kick some butt! I went back and forth on whether or not the squares should be in the picture. It is the Twilight Relm, but the squares stuck out too much the way I originally had them, so I blended them into the background a little more and it seemed to work much better.]]>Hyrule's Legend by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:f5f08849-ff73-7b11-da4b-d2ce5cfb255b2011-02-08T01:35:55-08:00From: Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

I actually drew this picture years ago when I was in a digital art class in college. I found it a few days ago and thought it looked pretty good for an older drawing and decided to color it. I also decided that I was going to give myself a weekly challenge to draw and color at least one thing a week, so here is the start of that challenge. :P
One of the reasons I am trying to challenge myself is most of my digital drawings take too long. I am trying to learn how to color faster. I still do all the textures myself and I need to find more efficient ways of creating the same effect. With this picture I didn't try any new techniques than any of my other digital drawings, but hopefully now that I have started this challenge, I will come up with new techniques.]]>Lily's Grove by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:4aefd180-5b70-1f23-dd0d-638918e6a9cc2010-11-09T20:16:22-08:00Hey I am getting better! It didn't take me a year to finish this one. :P
So for starters, I am very pleased with this one. It's actually going to be for someone else, but I was so proud of the final piece I wanted to post it. Because this was for someone else, I really pushed my skills to the limits (and my computer too!!). I have been working on this for about a month now... I was actually about halfway finished with this and went back to work on it to find that the file had been corrupted, which meant a week's worth of work was lost. But I managed to make all that up in four days. Not bad huh? :P
As for inspiration... I guess you could say the person who this belongs to is the inspiration. There is also a little poem I wrote for the piece, but I doubt I will post it here, since no one reads these right?]]>King of Halloween II by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:ac4defd9-7f86-04dd-87e1-e07734caab752010-10-07T19:58:06-07:00Happy Halloween everyone!!! So I actually started this last year and never finished it. I am so bad sometimes.
This was my own original character and this is actually my second time drawing him. The old one is in my gallery somewhere, but it's been a while and I must say, I like the new one much better. :P I kept the design of the character for the most part, but just made a few changes to make him easier to color.
I spent a lot of time (probably too much) on some of the small details, which are sadly a little lost due to the smaller image size. But at least the spider web can still be seen. :P]]>The Promised Pathway by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:bf1f2be7-f082-e96e-9a21-229e5d161c592010-08-11T19:23:23-07:00Anime: Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust
Characters: Meier Link and Charlotte
Okay so it's been a while since I submitted any art. Well I decided to break that cycle. :)
I have been working on this for the passed week now and I am so happy to finally have it finished.
I absolutely love the movie Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust (I am hoping the same director will make another) and I haven't done any artwork from the movie in years. I thought it would be nice to do the cute couple instead of D fan art. now I have to admit, Charlotte was really difficult to draw, but I am so pleased with the end result.
I am also really pleased with the background. I really love the way the stained glass came out. I tried a few new techniques and I think it all worked out really well. Hopefully the next time it won't take me so long. :P]]>Chibi Sisen by RIKUSGALurn:uuid:8bb5948e-2624-19fe-61c1-14985351d9b82010-04-07T21:32:14-07:00DJ SiSen is <3]]>Alan scribble by RIKUSGALurn:uuid:5b96ef96-d155-602d-bbbe-eb539bc3210a2010-04-07T21:28:56-07:008D]]>Derigo Porcus by Yusuke_SprtDtctvurn:uuid:e40d45de-13c8-467d-0250-41f2d941c5a52009-07-14T16:24:08-07:00This is an assignment I did for my Visual Perception class at Digipen. I think the most difficult part about this entire thing was the background. I had a hard time trying to figure out a good color for it. Bleh... So, I was feeling really lazy and art blockish.. and I drew this picture of me with artblock... and then I was working away at coloring it while still feeling incredibly lazy and I thought "hey.. since I can't really do anything productive artistically, I could make a coloring tutorial"
You see, I never really colored stuff before when I had art block.. and then I realized it could be really easy and fast. Sure, it takes some practice to get familiar with everything.. but once you have that down, it's really just a simple four step process per layer. And then it's done!
Of course, if you don't have artblock, you can probably be a little more creative with the technique. It's still handy [YAY!]
Okay... so I've been noticing that some people don't seem to know how to resize images. A common misconception, I think, is that people believe they don't have a program capable of handling resizing. Well since MOST people have MS Paint (Mac users don't, but Macs are a little more graphics savvy so you probably know you can use your art programs to resize images anyways) then most people do have a program. Even if they're not running photoshop or something like that.
When I had somebody tell me that they didn't have a resizing program, I asked if they had MS Paint. Then they told me that it doesn't work as well.. so that's when I decided to make this tutorial. Hopefully it'll be helpful to some of you!]]>OC: Linsey by Yusuke_SprtDtctvurn:uuid:a168773e-9e15-6c5c-6c32-1e53c5360f862007-07-17T03:18:47-07:00Soo... I've been working on a ref sheet. I am really happy with this one though. Hm... the most difficult part by far was the hair and the chain mail. *laughs* I think I spent most of my time working with those, mainly because I decided to be stupid and draw each strand of hair. (That's a no no next time I color with this program)

Well here is the last Eragon chapter I will post. I hope you have enjoyed them. I have... but at the same time I am really glad to be finished with this project... it seems like it has taken me a lifetime to complete them.
Spoiler!!
With how important this scene is in the book, there was no way i could not draw this chapter. So hooray! Durza dies and Eragon is horribly scarred. *laughs*
End Spoiler!
I actually had a lot of trouble with this scene... I was trying to find an angle where you would see the "action" and also the cut on Eragon's back. (Since it's important) I have to say though... I had a lot of fun working with the scar. I added a lot of purple around it to make the scratch look bruised. I hope that came over well.
Oh and I know in the book the Shade has black armor... I honestly tried to keep it as close as I could... but he looked so monotone... so I added more color to it. Don't kill me Eragon fans.
The background was also a bit of a pain... I wanted to make it blue again... but that looked horrible... so I made it orange and Durza disappeared... In the end... I added some purple and gray and well there you have it. I think it turned out alright. In all honesty... I don't really care much. I am just happy to be done.

I had a difficult time trying to figure out how to do the background for this one. In the book the setting was "somewhere" with an abundance of limestone, so I went and did some research on the rock and came up with nice limestone formations. Anyway, I sort of took on the idea the movie had for Durza, I thought his costume was really cool. As for Arya... I thought that the movie version wasn't very good. Personally... I like my elves to have pointy ears... So yay!
As for the scene, well this is the opening chapter for those of you who don't know, where the Shade captures Arya (like the title) :p
The most difficult part of this had to be the fire. I must have spent most of my time working on those flames. I think it turned out nice though, so I guess it was worth it.
Materials: Drawn by hand with an HB pencil, and colored in Corel Painter 8.
Time taken: About 5 - 6 hours. I think I am getting faster. :P]]>The Lonely Rider by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:2a1bd1bf-7929-33a7-e1b1-a0589e03adc42007-02-03T13:34:31-08:00Character: Brom
From: Eragon
Well here is one of my chapter pictures. This would be the story of how Brom came to possess the sword Zar'roc. i don't really want to say too much more in case some of you can not read the book.
This one took slightly less time than the cover, mainly because I am a little more used to the program. However, it decided to crash on me at least three times and I had to start over after about an hours worth of work. Ah well... the wonderful thing about computers right? *laughs*
As for Brom, I liked the costume design they gave him for the movie. So as you can see it's based off of that.

Well I figured that since my homework is generally art I might post some of the things I am working on. The assignment was to pick a book and illustrate a cover and twelve chapter pictures. Well as many may have guessed my book is Eragon! And this is the cover I designed for it.
*laughs* This was drawn by hand, scanned and then colored in Corel Painter 8. I have never used this program before... so this was a whole new experience for me. (That and I am NOT a painter... As I am sure anyone who has any experience with painting will see). This picture has taken me about eight hours to complete... mainly because the first three hours were focused on messing up (learning the program).
Well I hope you all like it.]]>It's Only You by TsukiNoNekourn:uuid:2f4d828a-77bf-8907-f641-c1374c58379b2006-10-19T21:08:00-07:00I can't believe I never uploaded this! Shame on me.
This is a gift for my big sistah, :iconslaygal:. A belated Christmas gift actually. I don't think she realizes how cool of a gift she's getting, since I'm sending her the original. ;) But it'll make her happy, and that's what's important. She better frame it real nice though! :P
The man in the portrait is Japanese actor Shibue Jyoji. The name might not do much for you, but if you are familiar with the live action series of Sailor Moon, you should recognize him as Chiba Mamoru/Tuxedo Kamen. He was fun to draw, as he was a beautiful man, with a more Asian touch than most of the Asian boys I draw.
I think I did this in record time too. I didn't keep track too closely, but it feels like a record. O_o
The original of this is unavailable, however prints are for sale on request. Note me if interested!

The picture is now finished and posted! Hooray!!! It's about bloody time. I have been working on this for a couple of months now. (Actually I started it a year ago and then redrew it.... Ahem) Anyway...
I really wanted to take my time with this one, focusing on making the forest look as real as possible (I know it still looks cartoony... but that's my style. :P) I also really wanted to make Haku and Zabuza actually look fairly close to their anime selves... (I used a couple manga pictures as references to make sure I had their expressions right. ^ ^)
Spoiler:
I think my idea on this was that they were sitting peacefully together right before they died... calm before the storm. Then while working on it though, I thought it would also work as an after death scene too. They made it to heaven together and are happy. *sniffles* Okay enough of that. ^ ^
End spoiler!
Favorite part: Hm... the color of Haku's shirt. I think it came out really nice... Considering the fact that I had to mix my dark greens and all of my aqua colors to get it that color. I hope it's close to being right. ^^;
Most difficult part: That would have to be the shadows... I have never done something like that before and it was a real challenge... However, now that I have given it a shot I might like to try it again... Maybe it will turn out even better.
Well that's about all I have to say. I hope you enjoy it. ^^]]>Ink Wash Tutorial by TsukiNoNekourn:uuid:8cfda502-f697-2612-2d9a-324d342b31f92006-10-13T18:58:28-07:00Here we go!! The tutorial! Aren't you all excited?! Well, you should be, because I sort of busted my butt on this one. :D All for you!
Well, I'm not going to talk too much on this one, I'll let the tutorial do the talking. I hope it's satisfactory and easy to follow. If there's anything I forgot, or something that's unclear, or if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! I'm glad to help. <3
Also, for those of you who decide to try this out, note me with your finished wash! I'd love to see it!!
Please enjoy. :D
I'm sorry it's so big, but this was the only way to upload it. Sorry!]]>Shower Song by Seifer-samaurn:uuid:5159120e-c7be-b174-c0e2-09b916afcc232006-10-10T09:47:17-07:00Work time: Maybe about 5 to 10 hours for the whole thing... Not a lot of work... but not completely rushed.
Okay so this is a little weirder than what I usually do... but my sister and I had the idea... and I had to play off it. :P
Ed and Al weren't in the original version, but I figured they should be added in there... after all... they are the main characters. ^^; The Fuhrer was probably the most difficult person to draw... I have never drawn him before (not sure if I ever want to again....) and there are almost no reference pictures for Juliet Douglas... (Good luck finding them if I ever need a real reference picture.) Hm... That first picture of Fury and Faulman is my favorite I think. I just like the way Fury came out. As for color... I wasn't really sure if i should or not... but now that it's done I think I like it better in color. One difficulty I had was in choosing what color the musical notes should be... I decided on red and then changed my mind and wanted to fade it into yellow... (not really sure why... but I guess it work).
Anyway, the song Roy is singing is "Shounen Yo, Shinjiru Nakama Yo", one of his character songs. And Havok is reading the "Miniskirt Millitary Magazine" (I made that up... but you know if there was one... he would be reading it. :P)

I'm open to suggestions for a better title.
The first piece for my new class, Digital Illustration II. It's a vector/Illustrator class, thus, the vector you see above you. The assignment was to choose something that was a 'guilty pleasure' of our and kind of stretch the concept into something creative. I decided to combine a couple of pleasures of mine (though they really aren't guilty ones), creating art, and my wonderful boyfriend Calvin. So, in my piece, I'm making him. :3
In case you aren't familiar with Illustrator technique, the face is made with a tool called Gradient Mesh. It uses grids and points to plot points and then blend colours to make a smooth effect instead of blocks of colour. It's a cool tool, however long it takes to do it. :P
But I'm pretty happy with it. I didn't choose the best reference, and I had to make up for it. But I'm happy with the effect. ^_^
(In hind sight I realize I should have uploaded this to FAC before my self portrait 2006, since this one preceeded it, but nothing I can do about that now. :P Just keep in mind this one was done first.)

I started this . . .months ago. More than six months ago. Then I got busy, it got put aside. Then tonight in biology, I'm bored. I find the file. We finish it. Biology is boring.
Hyde. Of course. It just started as a sketch, but I really liked it so I decided to experiement with colouring it in Photoshop. I'm rather happy with the result. I may do more.
A simple piece. But simple + Hyde =

......
Where did THAT come from?!
But anyhoo. This was my final for my Flash class. I really am not too fond of it, since I couldn't do what I really wanted to do. Flash hates me immensely, and between the random system crashes and the skipping of frames when I put in too much, I just sort of gave in. This was the result.
There are start and stop buttons in the corners, you'll see em if you mouse over them. Otherwise they are invisible so as not to distract.
