Colored version of a dragon lineart by Ulario.deviantart.com, for her recent dA coloring contest.

(Not the winner.) But I do love drawing full moons, and by now I guess inverted colored-pencil drawings are one of my trademark styles; there's just no way to describe that sense of accomplishment from spending long hours shading by faith, only at the end to scan & invert the piece and (for the very first time) view it as it was truly meant to be seen.

Used a different brand of pencils this time; good smooth lines but they couldn't shade like I was hoping to, so I ended up spending many hours drawing in each and every one of those little bitty scales. I shorted myself a lot of sleep that night, but it was worth it.

I love the detail in the scales and in the wings.
The choice of colors are amazing also.

Nicely done. Beautigul detail. I like that you spend alot of time on this; it shows. I like that if that green were inverted in ms paint, it would be that color of purple.

Wow. How tall is that dragon anyway? That dark night sky is very...I don't even know what words to use. I find myself doing that a lot these days....but, this picture is very pretty(I know saying "pretty" seems weak)! That dragon has elegance!

Good job, and nice style of coloring. I would like to see a bit more contrast in value to give it a bit more depth and detail. Other than that keep up the good work.

Did you create all those scales or were they already part of the drawing?

The original drawing (I did link it) was just lineart -- I did draw all the scales myself.

The question remains, what should I try it on? It's been so long since I have picked up color pencils I don't even know if I can still use them, lol
