In SatAM and Archie Comics, what if Robotnik called on the services of Colonel Kilgore and the Air Cav from Apolcalypse Now.

"Hey, I've always hated that dog Princess Sally," Kilgore would say, "We'll bomb them all back to the Stone Age! SADDLE UP, BOYS, TIME FOR HUNT SOME FURRY!"

Helicopters, infantry, jets and napalm, the US Army's whole Vietnam-era arsenal. They'd have blown the absolute crap out of those damn furry rebels.
