AylaWilson23very impressive! looks just like them! and I like your creative expression by using bleach instead of pencil and paper like me! lol I'm actually very interested to learn how you did this. i understand how you used household bleach and a paintbrush, but how in the world did you accomplish the contrast in the lighting and shadows? how much bleach went where? amazing work and I hope to see more! XD

GistonI never really think about that, I guess you just have to start and work it out as you go. My best tip is to keep a very dry brush. Bleach is thin, so it runs a lot if you have too much moisture in the brush. Everytime I wet the brush with bleach I wipe most of it off onto a cloth so it's quite dry by the time I come to touch down onto the actual picture. And because you can only go from dark to light with bleach, and not the other way, having limited bleach in the brush lets you control the light and shadow better. If you put too much bleach down, you really can't take any brush stroke back, so err on the side of caution. Other than that, it probably just takes a little getting used to. If you like you can look at some progression of one of my Jack Sparrow pictures:

subculturalgirl113ah i see lol thats cool then. how do you get the different shadings and contrasting between the light and dark? is it just how much bleach you use on certain areas that make the difference?

GistonThankyou. I just use household laundry bleach and a paintbrush. There's no great secrets, it's really just like painting with paint, except without the paint.
