Little Rajan and Kara

Awww...lookit the ickle Kara baby!!! ^-^<br />

Well..I assume this is how old Rajan would be in comparison. I'm not sure.. Anyway...I made up a story for it! =D<br />

Rajan stared blankly at the baby in his lap, his eyebrow quirked in confuddlement.<br />
<br />
She cooed and reached up at him with little pudgy paws.<br />
<br />
"Raj!" She squeaked.<br />
<br />
Rajan winced. He hated that, but she couldn't say his name yet.<br />
<br />
"Rajan." He corrected.<br />
<br />
"Raj." Kara repeated, her smile fading.<br />
<br />
"Rajan." Rajan said again.<br />
<br />
"Raj!" Kara yelled stubbornly.<br />
<br />
"Rajan!" <br />
<br />
"Raj!"<br />
<br />
"Rajan!"<br />
<br />
"Rajan!" Kara said.<br />
<br />
"Raj!" Rajan said... "...Wait!"<br />
<br />
Kara giggled and clapped her hands together. Rajan sighed.<br />
<br />
He was not in the mood to play with the little thing.<br />
<br />
He stood up, making sure to support her neck. Across the square was what had been their house. What had been. Now it was a mess, a large, sooty pile of ash, with ripped bits of cloth scattered about and a few pictures...Some boards.<br />
<br />
Kara blinked at it like she had no clue. Rajan did, though. He had just moved in with his aunt and uncle, and their two children, Elliot, and of course, the bundle of joy now wrapped tightly in a blanket in his arms.<br />
<br />
But bad luck seemed to follow Rajan no matter where he ran to. Kara had been the only one he could find, running blindly through the house, his eyes stinging from the smoke.<br />
<br />
He kicked a rock aside. He had finally had a family. <br />
<br />
His parents had died in a car crash. That was why he had moved t Calcutta.<br />
<br />
"Well, kitten." Rajan said, for that was what she was in comparison, and it made him feel more grown up. Which he was going to have to be now. "..I guess...this is it."<br />
<br />
He set her down in the basket he had salvaged and tucked her tightly into her blanket.<br />
<br />
"They'll come soon, to see if there are any survivors..." He said. The little girl said nothing, just blinked up at him.<br />
<br />
"Don't look at me like that. I can't take care of you by myself."<br />
<br />
"Raj!"<br />
<br />
He frowned as he looked down at her, but she continued to smile up at him. His scowl faded into a desperate look.<br />
<br />
"I'm sorry, I can't."<br />
<br />
"Raa-a-a-aj."<br />
<br />
"But..." He sighed and slowly picked the little cat from the basket. He rested her in the crook of his arm. "...Okay...but you have to be good. And do everything I tell you to. And never argue with me because now I'm your family, okay?"<br />
<br />
"Raj." She said sleepily, and reached up and tugged gently on his ear.<br />
<br />
"Yeah. Raj." He said with a small smile, and then he picked up the basket and walked away with his cousin snuggling against his chest.<br />

So yeah...that's what happened. Fires really, really suck. ._.<br />
<br />
I may do a full story about this...I'm unsure. It would be fun to, but I need to finish my other one first. ^_^
