Balam (OC)

The Cat-girl mutant character I came up with for my Gen-X fan-fiction "the Wild Ones". Well, I guess saying I came up with her is stretching it a bit. Her inspirations are very noticeable. I like to think that other than her background I've been able to write an original and unique character with her.<br />
Yeah, I know, everyone is going to be asking about the name if I don't put an explaination up. She's a wild girl who grew up in the rainforests of Brazil. For most of her life the only humans who saw her were the native peoples of the rainforest, and they came to believe she was some sort of Goddess. There is an Incan myth about a Jaquar goddess named Ixbalamque that carries over to present day culture, today one of the terms for Jaguar in Brazil is 'Balam', so Balam is actually closer to her real name than her adoptive name of Christina Laine. (Note: I am not an expert in Incan mythology, the whole myth was in a book I read somewhere the summer before I started writing the series). now that I've bored you all to tears, I'll fade to black and shut up now.
