Another piece I drew during one of the college's art club meetings. Like the last one, this one was a first draft for a painting project the club was working on; we were going to paint images on the plastic coverings for the light fixtures. only a few of these drawings ever made it to that stage though, and I think I knew from the moment I started drawing this that it couldn't possibly make it up there. It was too detailed or at least complex to paint on those darn light covers, which really weren't the best painting surface. the liquid looking foreground actually was how the piece started out, and I had plans for coloring it (it was going to be a gradation thing starting from a dark blue and shifting on the way down the image into a light purple). By the time I had the penciling done though the art professor made the observation that it might look pretty well if that shape just remained colorless. I think I'm still not entirely sure if I agree with his observation, but I did start thinking that the gradation might have been too much of a contrast, so this is how it ended up.<br />

The coloring work on this image is much better than the last one I submitted; unfortunately you'll have to trust me on that as my scanner settings wouldn't adjust properly to show it.
