Description

Painter 11.

A painting for the “Wings” calendar and one of the four angel focused pieces for it. Not sure which month to use it for since there’s several candidates for December and January. Also a bit iffy on the title.

The concept for this inspired the drawing (and eventual color, digital painting) “Avenging Angel”. Perhaps this is right after he landed and he’s still a bit in smitey, ‘angel on a mission’ mode. lol

This heavily uses Painter 11’s Real!Pencil brush and my developing techniques for it. I’m really liking how it feels like the way I use traditional colored pencil. And yet not.

Thank you :) Like I mentioned in some other comments, I have more wing-themed paintings coming soon. 3 more angels, 4 with fairies (2 in each, so that's A LOT of wings!!!) and 3 more 'others'. :)

Oh my God...
Of all the featured pictures I've seen, this is definitely one of the most impressive. Everything is beautiful and the picture is almost flawless.

Thanks :) I have a whole series of wing themed paintings I'm working on, 12 altogether (for a calendar so, yeah lol).

Unfortunately, after I started I realized just how many wings that means I have to paint. Ack!! lol

lol yeah. And 4 of the paintings have a pair of fairies, so that's 8 sets right there! Eek. lol I kinda 'cheated' on a few non-fairy ones and there's only one wing showing in the composition. ;)

Thankfully only 5 paintings have feathery wings, because those are a real #%^@! to paint. lol
