I feel so out of my element with a picture like this. Meet Alexandra-chan's request, her prize for being a winner in the "evolution" contest I hosted in our forums back during September. She asked me if I could draw her original character in a certain dress (reference pic provided) in a rose garden -- which, I guess I interpreted it as "draw a garden with roses and her character wearing a dress in it". Which allowed me to shift most of my energy from the person in the garden (since I don't draw people), to the landscaping of the garden scenery itself (which I'm still learning how to do).

And, wow. The garden turned out much better than I was expecting it to, although I still have doubts about how the girl came out.
Medium: Colored & ebony pencil
Time: About four hours
Scale (full view): 60px/in

HeatherenieA human! That's the first person drawing i've seen you make! It's pretty good. But I guess your focus is somewhat of the garden....that's pretty good too.

_matt_That's pretty good for being "out of your element." ^_^ I love the detail and color you used in this picture. I have to be honest, the trees could look a bit better and the woman's model could be a bit more detailed and emotional. The dress however, is fantastic. Again, great detailed enviornments and great use of your coloring talents. :)
