Description

According to rumors, Absol is getting a "mega evolution" in Pokemon X/Y.

And according to the latest images, it apparently looks like THIS.

I like Absol plenty much as-is and would never accept him getting an evo, but . . . I gotta admit it -- I love this new design just as much. (And there's always room for some Okami swirls....)

So does this mean you now hate absol simply due to the fact that they now have a mega-evolution? Because I think it's strange to not accept a Pokemon having a mega evolution simply because of the Pokemon species.

Also, two comments, Absol is confirmed as being ovid meaning sheep and goats so it's not a jinmenken. Also, they can be female so it's kind of strange to generalize Absol as being male.

The description was more of a reference to the all the obviously fake Absol "evolutions" that fans came up with during the ten years between Pokemon Gen 3 and 6. None of them got Absol right.

And make no mistake, I LOVE Mega Absol's design; hands-down my favorite Mega Evolution.

I'm going to cite a few pieces from dA here, but I do mean fake designs like this and this. (And I made sure to be searching only for fanart prior to Pokemon XY.)

Okay, I think I get it now, I was just a bit confused there. I think those are pretty much just fakemon. I have a few fakemon designs myself such as a baby version of Audino. A lot of people seemed to really hate mega evolutions when they came out and clowned on me for wanting a mega Darmanitan, but I never changed my opinion and I'd still love to see one someday that isn't fan made. I still think it would be so cool and probably so powerful that it's banned from all public tournaments. A lot of people I've met in the Pokemon fan base would pick some pretty dumb reasons to dislike something. ^^'
