Eh...there is probably not much interest in this type of art here but I recently restored my old hard drive that crashed a while ago and found this oil painting I did of a Cardinal in a Holly Bush. It took me forever to complete but it did win several awards in a couple of art shows...so...I thought some people may enjoy it. Oils on hard canvas board. Original size is 12 x 9.

This is very nice piece of art work. I really love the results of Oil Painting. I've always wanted to give it a try too, but people say it's hard to deal with and it takes days to dry...

All that old fashioned art back in the centuries looked so good in oil painting, and ... it's just a great media that I absolutely love!

You did a very good job on this! :D Do keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. I really appreciate it! Yes, there is nothing like the beauty of oil paintings but IT IS a pain to work with. That's why I don't paint very often. This small painting took me months to complete but I guess it's worth it in the end. You should definitely try it when you get the chance. Thank you again!

Oils cool, kinda looks like colored pencils in this quality. But I guess I can see it now, nice job on the leaves. I love oils!

Yeah, my scanner is not very good and sometimes reads the texture of the paper or canvas more than the brush strokes. But this is all oil paint done with very tiny brushes. Maybe that's why it looks like pencil? But, yeah, the scanner really picked up the hard canvas texture...oh well. Thank you for the feedback! Cheers!

Thank you for the feedback. Yeah...we sometimes forget the powers of "real life" pencil, ink or paint. Art programs are great too but the human touch can never be duplicated. Cheers!
