I've had the game since the release date but haven't gotten to beat it til recently.<br />
Before: When :spoilers: Lloyd renames the tree and the big dramatic music kicks in and he says the name RIGHT at the end well I didn't catch the name and went insane my dad didn't remember either. So i went insane.<br />
After:I got online and went to the ToF "offical" forum and found out that the new name is Yggdrassil(sp?) IT is right? Cus people say it translates to something or other relating to the tree but ya. So now I'm happy and now I'ma gonna tell my dad, bye's!!!

To MaiMongoose, the name of the tree isn't every actually said, but as was pointed out before, the game is based highly on Norse mythology, and the tree of life in Norse is Yggdraisl, it is the tree that provides the sourse of everything to give life (mana in the game) Also while some things in the game change depending on the soul mate you get, the voiced parts can't change, so that is only relivant to a point.Kratosgirl14 on December 1, 2005, 8:52:20 AM

does get a name..but TOS fans try to think..think back throughout the game,one thing that effects the whole group BESIDES Yggdraisl and Derris Kharlan....something close to Llyod and Collete espicially,and btw the tree wasn't named after Yggdrasil,the website you went to was obviouslly was worded wrong,I've beat TOS 3 times and I'm halfway done with it for a fourth time,each time I've played it differently,once with a strong bond with Colette,2nd time with Raine,and 3rd time with Sheena,this time I've got a bond with Genis and the whole Format is changed,each character you for a strong bond with in certain parts of the game (when someone gets kidnapped,ect)it changes the chain of events and when you obtain certain items,weapons,armor,ect... and rumor has it,the tree gets a different name depending on who you decide to bring along on the journey (you know the promise llyod says about exspheres and whatnot) well thats all the info i got!~MM (the tos freak and Yggdraisl fangirl)

Yeah, it is Yggdrassil. Know why? Well, the Tales series is based on norse mythology, and in norse myth there is a 'Tree of Life,' or 'Tree of Wisdom.' Which is called... Yggdrassil! Heh.. the moment I heard that name in the game, and heard about the tree, I knew it'd be called the Yggdrasill tree. Another random fact - the norse god Odin had to hand himself from the tree's branches to obtain his infinite wisdom...O.O And NOW I feel like an annoyinh know-it-all. Anyway, cute picture. ^^

yeah then after the credits there's some ending junk after the credits where kratos leaves with derris karlan, raine and genis got talk with altessa, colette went back to whatever that place is called you start in... oh well and regal and presa go say hi to whoever her sister is...
